bigskyfan Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 "A few players after practice Monday did say that Saturday’s game was a bit of a wake up call for those that have not seen as much of the 3-4 defensive front as many of the veterans that have been through the AFC East battles. This week with the starters expected to see their most extensive action, they may also get a few more scout team looks during the week for what Pittsburgh might have in store this weekend with a similar defensive front." from chris brown Does anyone besides me wonder why going into the fifth week of training camp, and knowing the team will be facing a 3-4 most of their games, they have not already been practicing against it?
bdelma Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Whitner hasn't been ready what going on four years. Overated! Seventh overall pick who just doesn't make plays.
Heels20X6 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Is this assurance on the same level as his guarantee of playoffs last year? If so, we're screwed.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Whitner hasn't been ready what going on four years. Overated! Seventh overall pick who just doesn't make plays. Haloti Ngata chance!!

bigskyfan Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 this team was horrible against 3-4 defenses last year, yet it sounds like they haven't even practiced against it in training camp despite knowing they will face it most of their games this year.
nucci Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Whitner hasn't been ready what going on four years. Overated! Seventh overall pick who just doesn't make plays. 8th.
seq004 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I hope he didn't guarantee it. Just make a play.
The Big Cat Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Firstly, they have practiced against a 3-4 during TC, just not predominately. Secondly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and it's exactly what they should be doing. TC has less to do with preparing the starters for the season than it does re-ordering your depth charts, which means your own guys have to know YOUR defensive packages at this point in the year more so than the starters need to know your future opponents'. Pull the broken glass away from your trachea, TSW.
bdelma Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Haloti Ngata chance!! Didn't he have issues. The Bills passed on him. Their nuts
Fan in Chicago Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 For the life of me I can't remember which Bills player guaranteed that we will make the playoffs last year.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Didn't he have issues. The Bills passed on him. Their nuts What about their nuts?
26CornerBlitz Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Didn't he have issues. The Bills passed on him. Their nuts No issues, just the Bills' front office passing on a dominating DL disruptor in favor of a safety who has yet to justify his #8 draft position.
jwws9999 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 how many int's did he have last year. another first round bust by the bills
Wilson from Gamehendge Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 how many int's did he have last year. another first round bust by the bills as somebody from this board told me last week, INT's dont mean anything and are a worthless stat. maybe we should pickup michael huff as a FS!

Steelers are gonna be our scout team this week? Nice! Hope they don't do none of that game planning---just lay there and let us figure it out!

Maybe DJ can ask them to play a 4-3 just to be "good opponents" and to give his roster of "good teammates and hard working guys" a chance.
Pitta Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 whitner assures team will be ready Phew! What a relief!
apuszczalowski Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 You guys realise whitner doesn't have to be prepared for a 3-4 defence, becuase he isn't on the field when the other teams defence in on the field. INT's don't mean everything, sure he hasn't been worthy of a Pro Bowl start, but the guy has been far from horrible, or on the verge of being replaced/cut. People seriously need to get a grip on reality. Whitner was not a horrible pick, and there will always be someone else that might have been a better pick in hindsight

That's exactly why the Bills are mired in mediocrity!
