Speedy G Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 from AP article - "The Bills believe he’s versatile enough to eventually play linebacker, too" "he is number 58" if this is the plan, then lets get him up to speed asap, I could see him being a shawn merriman type guy with the passion for the game he's showing can I get an amen !

Amen! Use the dude wherever you can. Keep him on the field!
youbotymyboty Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 He looked smaller to me. Maybe the plan was to let him drop down to his normal weight and run at LB

DIE HARD 1967 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I think he should play QB tonight and give the offensive line the night off. After he is sacked about 15 times, I will then forgive him for missing camp over money

iinii Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 !nema could ya work Mays into our draft plans please?
AF88Bills Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 He looked smaller to me. Maybe the plan was to let him drop down to his normal weight and run at LB Why even drop down to normal weight...250 isn't exactly heavy for linebacker. This is agood weight for a linebacker. Urlacher weighs 258.
JStranger76 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Although I wouldn't mind Maybin lining up at LB in certain situations, I agree with N.Y. Orangeman that his skills would be a total waste in the Bills system on a full time basis. As for being a Merriman type guy, Maybin possesses nowhere near that kind of size or power. I would say 3 full offseason strength and conditioning programs, and probably a little juice too. Jason Taylor would be a player who we could hope Maybin would resemble.
BeastMode54 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 The Bills were said to be planning on usng a little bit of the 3-4 defense this year in order to utilize Maybins talents.

BeastMode54 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 That would be nice. I'm trying to find a link to where I remember reading that info about the 3-4. Does anyone else remember reading that?

Even while the majority of this board have complained about Maybin's size and stature at defensive end, I have always assumed and thought it was obvious that he was going to play OLB. Amen.
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 wasted at lb in our system Wasted at DE in *any* system. It has been so obvious from day 1 that the guy was going to play OLB. Not sure why that was so hard for some to realize.

Arkady Renko Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Is any draft pick beside Lankster going to play only his college position?
