Big Turk Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Usain Bolt just shattered his own record in the 200m, finishing in 19.19 seconds(previous record was 19.30). Earlier this week he just ran a 9.58 100m time, again shattering his own record by a tenth of a second. He looks like a man among boys out there...the races aren't even close....he looks like he is jogging out there, while everyone else is running as hard as they can, but still falling further and further behind... At only 23 years old, he might be challenging Tiger and a few others for most dominating athlete...
Big Turk Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 trade roscoe for bolt Yeah, he's 6' 4" too! Just line him up, let him run 50 yards downfield and throw a jump ball to him...
justnzane Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Yeah, he's 6' 4" too! Just line him up, let him run 50 yards downfield and throw a jump ball to him... I 2nd that. Except he is listed as 6'5. But as long as he could take a hit better than Renaldo Nehemiah, he should be fine.
loyal2dagame Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Usain Bolt...this guy is not human..., complete and utter domination... wanst the same said about carl lewis and ben johnson at one time?
PromoTheRobot Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 A crazy idea but it could work if Mr. Bolt can a) be just as fast making cuts, and b) beat the chuck at the line of scrimmage. He would blow by any defender but he'd have to get past his man at the line of scrimmage first. Oh and he would have to be able to catch a ball at full gallop. Details. PTR
Mr. WEO Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 wanst the same said about carl lewis and ben johnson at one time? Not really. Lewis was a great, multitalented speedster. Johnson was a 100m sprinter. Neither ever accomplished what Bolt has. He has lowered the WR (his own) 3 times over tha past year or so. He broke 9.7 and now, 9.6. It took 20 years to lower the WR by 2/10ths prior to that. He's nearly done that in a year. Also crushed the 200m WR mark (CRUSHED). Also, he is unlike any other sprinter out there--tall, lean, huge stride. How low can the record go? There is no other known human out there who will tell us except Bolt. Tiger Woods??? Is that inserted for humor? He's a golfer, not a "dominating athlete". I don't think John Daly will be beating out Bolt for a spot in a 100m final anytime soon.
Ralonzo Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Tiger Woods??? Is that inserted for humor? He's a golfer, not a "dominating athlete". To borrow one from Nick Bakay, advantage: Tiger Although I gotta say, Bolt

PTR Yes that catching the ball seems to be an issue. I can only remember Bob Hayes having any kind of success. After years of never using your hands while running, it is a big transition to all of a sudden have to use them. The only transitions bigger would be him trying to play soccer. Years ago, a lot of college football players were also sprinters on the track team, but things have become so specialized, I don't think that is true anymore.

Mr. WEO Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showforum=48 Sorry. You're right. Let's get back to Maybin's haircut.

DC Tom Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 And I think the guy still has yet to run a race full-out. Bolt might be one of the most arrogant competitors I have ever seen. And yet...I can hardly fault the guy for it. He's just that damned dominant.

Otherwise bowlers, golfers, and dartsmen would be included.

vincec Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I think that the term had lost significance over the last 30 years of so, but Bolt has revived it. He is The Worlds Fastest Man.
BuffaloBill Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 trade roscoe for bolt You do have to wonder what he could do on a football field.
