scoring is not hardy Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 He has an explosive sack? Looks like McCargos gonna have to clean that up. The only thing that will be in need of cleanup will be Tom Brady* off the turf on Sept. 14.
Geno Smith's Arm Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 He sure looks more like a linebacker than a D-lineman. He reminds me of C.Bennett (he had a great first step too), a lot more than of Bruce Smith. I hope he can contribute right away like CB did, but I have the feeling he will disappoint for the first 2 seasons while he learns how to be a pro. He is real young....
DELLAPELLE JOHN Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 i cant wait to see maybin run right around matt light and break bradys leg!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderbread Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 i cant wait to see maybin run right around matt light and break bradys leg!!!!!!!!!!! You forgot about 7 exclamation points.
jester43 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 go to 1:00 and see for yourself, this guy may not be big but man as a 3rd dowm pass rusher off the edge he is just what we need!!!!!! i'm thrilled. he can school purdue's left tackle. hoo-ray. this pick only works on a team where 4or 5 of the front 7 aren't constantly getting worked over. on the bills it's scary. and now the guy's missed camp. i guess on the bright side, we'll get a LITTLE more out of him than we did in mcgahee's rookie year...
ans4e64 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 He'd better be explosive, using the #11 overall pick on a 3rd down pass rusher.
SlamnSam Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 His lateral movement is eh. I think the pick was a mistake, but there is no denying his explosiveness. Even if he turns into a 3rd down specialist, he can't hurt at this point. Are those Eglin airplanes on the Avtar?

Another vanity, luxury pick by DJ et al. Hope not, but looks like it to me. He is best suited to a position he did NOT play in collegee, sound familiar? At lease DJ put some good pieces in place for the next regime
SteamRoller67 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 This is a board to express our opinions, or so I thought. Before the draft, Many of us said this would be a mistake taking a guy that for one-year made Temple, Coastal Carolina, Syracuse and the Big 10 look bad (der)... AND made USC look like the New England Patriots offense. We shall see. USC is the Patriots of NCAA football. They light up 75% of their opponents....and have for 8 straight years now. Maybin would have the same explosion if he played at USC, Penn State or Indiana Correctional Institute. He's an incredible athlete at 250 pounds.

busterramsey Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 94 Schobel, Aaron DE 6-4 243 58 Maybin, Aaron DE 6-4 250 I don't think the size argument holds any merit. If the kid can play, then he can play. period. All teams do is run at Schobel and flatten him like a pancake
toddgurley Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Sarcasm I hope? Mike Williams. Erik Flowers. J.P. Losman. John McCargo. Donte Whitner and that's just off the top of my head. I would agree with everyone except Whitner. Even though I would rather have Ngata than whitner, I would not call Whitner a bust yet
DaBills51 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Out of all the d-ends in madden he has the highest acceleration at a 96. Means nothing but it is still crazy that they would give the guy an acceleration rating higher then Freeney or Peppers.
Thoner7 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Between our FO, scouts and DJ, this team is perpetually undermanned and under coached. 6 wins is the ceiling on this football team. I am interested to see how quick a 250lb Maybin is rather than the 220lb Maybin.

Sisyphean Bills Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 If he would have gotten on the field It's not like Joe Pa had him starting the second he walked on campus either.

GO BILLS!!!
Simon Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 USC is the Patriots of NCAA football. They light up 75% of their opponents....and have for 8 straight years now. That's because they play in a division with Cincinnati, Detroit, Cleveland, Oakland, St Louis, Kansans City, Houston and Seattle.
