Coach Klein Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I know a lot of you have been lobbying for him to be traded. If the FO were to trade him I would be VERY VERY pissed off. Just watched NFL Yearbook and I watched his return in week one already at the game...but slowed down on NFL Yearbook I am even more impressed with it. Not only that but I was unaware until just recently but he has the highest yards per return average in NFL history. Not only that but there was a few plays I saw where he was at WR where he split the opposing D with ease. And some of you want to trade THAT kind of talent away? Give me a break. If we get rid of a WR and it ISN'T Justin Jenkins I will be incredibly disappointed.

(because Jenkins will actually contribute) You're right though, Roscoe is really good at taking one to the house in the annual home opener...

I think that the offensive coaches need to give him a chance to be more effective in places other than special teams. Although, some do bring up the point that perhaps they have tried to make him more effective in the offense and it just doesn't work.

First of all, trading him is not a punishment. He has asked to be traded. Second, when used as a WR, he has dropped passes when he has been able to get open, which is not frequently enough. This is not on the coaches. I love Roscoe, and am happy to have him as a return specialist; if he's not happy there, he needs to start making more plays on offense when he's given the opportunity.

I know he came out and said he wants to be used in the offense more and if not he would want to do so on another team...but i have never read a thing that said he has actually asked to be traded. link?
mikey98277 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The only thing that is going to help out parish is going to be the combination of the running game being feared and TO and Evans being doubled, which in fact may just happen if the O-Line can hold up.

I think we're splitting hairs here, but... http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/765098.html "... it's known that he feels undervalued in his current role, and that his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is pushing for the Bills to move him and give him a chance to flourish elsewhere in a more complete capacity."
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Whenever we talk about this, people always start debating whether or not he can be used more in the offense. I think thats missing the point, which is that we have the NFL's best punt returner, and some people say we should swap him for whatever we can get because he's 'not worth a roster spot.' Thats just preposterous.
Mr. WEO Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Did we need another trade/don't trade Roscoe thread?
Captain Caveman Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Did we need another trade/don't trade Roscoe thread? Apparently we needed two.
todd Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The ONLY way I would want Roscoe to be traded is if he is traded for another player that could help this year. The Bills need every advantage they can get, and a draft pick doesn't help them now. Roscoe straight up for a starting OLB instead of ellison? Make the trade, Russ! I know a lot of you have been lobbying for him to be traded. If the FO were to trade him I would be VERY VERY pissed off. SteamRoller67 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 In honor the 36th post of the Bills 5th string WR/punt returner, I would like to start a thread discussing the Bills 3rd string OLB/punt return tackler Jon Corto..... Please don't trade our 3rd string OLB for a used AFL football and a years supply of turtle wax. Thank you.

ddaryl Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 we are piss weak at OLB and we can definitley use upgrades on the OL and DL if any trade scenario nets us a starter at any of those 3 postions then its a no brainier, you pull the trigger NOW. AND if by the trade deadline this season if we are out of the playoffs and Roscoe is still a Bill they HAVE to trade him for draft picks it will be another huge mistake for the Bilsl FO. He won't resign with the Bills next year, he wants to be a starting WR and that's not happening here, so they need ot get something for him rather then just letting him walk for nothing
I'm Spartacus Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Roscoe Parrish - another Tom Donohoe blunder..... We had MUCH bigger draft needs than a speedy smurf returner / receiver. Can you say OFFENSIVE LINE????
Coach Klein Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 Did we need another trade/don't trade Roscoe thread? sorry...new to this...didn't know there was one before.
DIE HARD 1967 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Look, I love Roscoe, but his new contract "May" be a problem. Roscoe wants a starting job, and if he does not get the ball this season, he will not get the deal that matches his talent level. It may be one of those deals where nobody wins
