Wilson from Gamehendge Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Rashad Baker was cut by the Eagles today. He played in 10 games last year, starting in 1 game. He had 3 INTS. Is that not more than anyone here had last year? I would like to bring him back in, he would be better than 1/2 the safeties we have right now, in my opinion. Definitly worth a look, moreso than Spann. What's there to lose? We want "Playmakers" right?

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 No he wasn't. Maybe he didn't suck for a benchwarmer, but the notion that he's a "playmaker" because he got 3 INTs last year is completely fallacious.
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Baker was awful. The INT is perhaps the most meaningless and incomplete of all mainstream NFL statistics. No he wasn't. I liked him as a player, too. I thought he was very solid whenever he was called upon and seemed to be in the right place to make a play most of the time. I remember I was kind of sad to see him go.

I thought he was very solid whenever he was called upon and seemed to be in the right place to make a play most of the time. I remember I was kind of sad to see him go. He hit like a ton of bricks. He was better than people are giving him credit for here.

KD in CA Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Especially for safeties ...who play with teams that can't rush the passer. Unless of course it's Donte Whitner, who sucks because he was picked #8.
Wagon Circler Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Baker was awful. The INT is perhaps the most meaningless and incomplete of all mainstream NFL statistics. Interceptions are meaningless? You must play safety for the Buffalo Bills.
The Dean Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Interceptions are meaningless? You must play safety for the Buffalo Bills. The interceptions aren't meaningless, but for a safety they are a very poor metric for judging quality.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Interceptions are meaningless? You must play safety for the Buffalo Bills. Interceptions are meaningful. The interceptions statistic is deceptive and virtually meaningless, compared to other metrics into which the average fan doesn't care to delve.
stuckincincy Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Any news on effing Lonnie Johnson. I heard he's effng somewhere in New Jersey. Just a rumor, though.
Fewell733 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 always liked Baker, but when he played here it was a different defense. Doubt we'll have any interest.
Billistic Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Especially for safeties For example Oshiomogho Atogwe, Michael Griffin, and Troy Polamalu are all awful safeties that just happened to have a ton of INTs, whereas Bryan Scott and Donte Whitner are great safeties that just happened to get no INTs.
evilbuffalobob Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 fallacious. Did you pick that word up down there in Key Wethst?
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 fallacious. Did you pick that word up down there in Key Wethst? Fallacious? I thought the word was fellatio. But what do I know?
