Simon Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Coaches fight all the time. Usually not publicized but it also doesn't usually end up with broken bones . There was one famous Bills coach fight in 1989. The Bickering Bills era. Could only imagine this place if there had been an internet in 1989. Anyhow, I forget the names at the moment but one coach put another coaches head through a wall. The one coach who went through the wall showed up at the meeting that day with his head bandaged. I'm all for it. Someone should pop Jauron every once in awhile and wake him up. Somebody linked to a story about it in some other thread.
SF Bills Fan Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 The word out here is that Hanson is Al's toadie. He and Kiffin got at it last year too and Hanson only got suspended. Normally, you would think that a lowly coach would get let go. But Hanson has survived. There is no doubt Al has his people in the staff that tell him what is going on, so Hanson might be a spy.

Hanson is the Chuck Lester of the Raiders?
BillsWatch Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Notice it says "allegedly" - that is what PFT is all about. It should be called PF Rumor or even PF National Enquirer. No. Chuck Lester was with Bills before head coach and probably will be here after head coach. The definition does not apply. That would be like calling you toadie of SKOOBY.
Peter Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 "October 25, 1989- Buffalo Bills assistant coaches Nick Nicolau and Tom Bresnahan got into a fight Monday while reviewing videotape from Sunday's victory over the New York Jets, leaving Bresnahan with facial and head injuries, according to a report in the Buffalo News. Nicolau, the wide receivers coach, reportedly knocked Bresnahan to the floor with an uppercut to the chin in a meeting room of the Bills' administrative building at Rich Stadium. Bresnahan, the team's offensive line coach, received a cut that required stiches. Sources said Nicolau then placed Bresnahan in a headlock and rammed his head through a wall" You know you have a good team when you win and the coaches scrap. And that was after a victory . . . .

Lester stays despite HC changes, because he is Ralph's toady. Ralph owns the Bills. Hanson stayed despite a HC change, because he is a toady of Al Davis (according to SF Bills). Al owns the Raiders How is that different?

Actually, Lester stays because he's a master at breaking down game film. Or so I've been told.
The Dean Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Actually, Lester stays because he's a master at breaking down game film. Or so I've been told. Yes, I'm sure that's it.
Captain Caveman Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Actually, Lester stays because he's a master at breaking down game film. Or so I've been told. Pretty impressive when you consider he started back before the widespread use of alternating current.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The rest of the backstory here in the Bay area regarding Raiders' defensive assistant Hanson is that he is instrumental as a witness in the case of the Raiders v. Lane Kiffin. This is ongoing litigation with millions of dollars at stake. Al Davis needs to simultaneously respect his head coach and at the same time, make sure that he keeps Hanson happy so he has ammunition in the pending trial.
BillsWatch Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Actually, Lester stays because he's a master at breaking down game film. Or so I've been told. That is what I have heard from people in media, Bills and otherwise, several players after they left Buffalo and even a few ex-Bills coaches i have met. They said the Bills film work was second to none in the league. Of course knowing how Bills fandom is it is turned around to he not being able to find work otherwise and he is a stoolie/toad/gopher for Ralph rather than someone who likes having stability in a job which does not have a lot of it.
