Dante Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Interesting list. Clearly he likes the martial art flicks but some good picks in there. "Shaun Of The Dead" and "Team America" are my personal favs. Not sure where his head is at with the "Friday" pick. I know he did go kinda wigger back in the 90's. Anyway, Netflix queue just got a lot longer, and more eclectic. Crap, sorry for no link. Here it is.
Bullpen Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I know he did go kinda wigger back in the 90's. Oh Dante, I'm afraid this ain't gonna end well...

DrDawkinstein Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 id prefer a written list instead of having to listen to him talk. but who doesnt love Friday?!? great movie, lots of quotes, classic.
KD in CA Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 id prefer a written list instead of having to listen to him talk. Same here. I made it through about 30 seconds before I realized I didn't care enough to sit through all his blathering.
GOBILLS78 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Same here. I made it through about 30 seconds before I realized I didn't care enough to sit through all his blathering. Just like the dialogue in his movies...

WellDressed Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Just like the dialogue in his movies... That's what it takes to make classic cinema.

Dante Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 Excellent choice! Is it a martial arts movie? I mean, with a title like "Battle Royal" I suppose it is. I read the outline at Netflix and it looked like it may be. Not really into those. If its not i'll rent it

Max Fischer Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Looks like we region 1 & A folk will get to see Gomorrah afterall. Saw it on Comcast rental. Good flick.
The Dean Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 A also always call M. Night Shyamalan, "M. Night Shamalama Ding Dong", too. And Dante did a good job by not simply copying the list on the youtube vid that lists #4 as "Blade". He was right to call it "The Blade" also known as "Dao" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112800/ And, no, I have not seen it.

I was surprised, no mention of a Chan-wook Park or Andrew Lau & Alan Mak films Hey Dao, you can check out Surveillance tomorrow. I've only seen bits and pieces, but what I saw I really liked. Pullman & Ormond are worth the rental/purchase alone. I've heard the ending is whacked; I wasn't the least bit surprised.
Hazed and Amuzed Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Wow, thank you. Looks good. On the queue now Looks like you may even be able to watch it on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VUFZhHnoKc...feature=related

And, I may go to the movie theater for the first time in many years, to see District 9.
