Beerball Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Link and Buffalo Bills (No. 11) have allocated for their respective draft picks, all of whom are still unsigned.
silvermike Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Full sentence: By some estimates, Raji’s deal was somewhat less than the inflated contracts of No. 5 pick Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets [team stats] and No. 7 pick Darrius Heyward-Bey of the Oakland Raiders and more than the Jacksonville Jaguars [team stats] (No.8), San Francisco 49ers (No. 10) and Buffalo Bills (No. 11) have allocated for their respective draft picks, all of whom are still unsigned. The Jaguars, 49ers, and Bills have not signed their first round picks, but have less money available in the rookie pool than the Packers did and therefore will not sign their top picks to contracts exceeding BJ Raji's.
R. Rich Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The grammar and usage are fine (see the entire article), but I wonder how the writer knows just how much any of these teams "allocated" to sign their draft choices? If they have so many people in the room during negotiations, maybe that's why these deals take so long to finalize.
