JinVA Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 They go home win or lose, where else would they go
kota Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 ^^^Ass Steve, When you play the internet tough guy make sure you don't post your pic.
RkFast Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 If they lose, they go HOME. They go home to their families to move forward with their lives. They wont be killed by Uday. They wont be tortured by Uday. Their children will not be raped while the players and their wives watch. Their homes and possessions will not be confiscated.
Spun Posted August 26, 2004 Author Posted August 26, 2004 Guantanamo Bay? 8044 Guantanamo is a possibility or anywhere else they can get in. Win or lose...
zow2 Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 There was a little story about them on NBC News yesterday. Apparently, several of the Iraqi's have been offered contracts to play in other countries (Turkey, Italy, Spain, etc...). That's the big irony. These Iraqi soccer stars want to get out of the country they love so much since there's no future for them there. I sure don't blame them. To a man, they said they all covet a soccer contract from another country and their fine performance in the Olympics has really helped them out.

I smell middle management right around the corner for you big guy.
theesir Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 ^^^AssSteve, When you play the internet tough guy make sure you don't post your pic. 8050 ???? This thread is full of confusing posts!
stevestojan Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 ???? This thread is full of confusing posts! 8061 Yeah, I didn't understand his post either. I was being serious. But, he has been following me around the board all day threatening me. So, all is good.

Yoho Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I understand, and sometimes enjoy, the off-topic posts. I recognize the need to expand our horizons beyond Jonas Jennings ankle. However, I would implore people to keep worthless bantering over inane topics to a minimum, especially while the Board is having trouble. I know, I know, I just did it myself, but I ask you to look at the number of posts that I put up here over the years and see if you can accuse me of overloading this site. To get this topic back on subject. It appears the Asa Francis era is over.

I brought up the question because there is speculation that some of the players may not return to Iraq.

Oh wait, that's right - they went in there to get rid of the weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist. Wow - thank god the iraqi soccer team can go home safely. Only cost us 1000 of our finest.
