scribo Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...d0-86e713275f52 From the sidelines, it was easy to hear RB Marshawn Lynch trash-talking with his teammates during red-zone drills Wednesday. He began to verbally challenge DTs Kyle Williams and Marcus Stroud, even telling defensive line coach Bob Sanders to pull them out because he felt they couldn’t handle the offense’s run game. Chris Brown reports this Lynch kept it up for an hour and it contributed to the flaring of tempers at the end of practice. I like it. Actually, I love it! This team needs to be fired up. The blood needs to boil. Going through the motions "business like" isn't going to get players to the next level. Good job, Marshawn! Keep it up.
Stussy109 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 a little jabbing, and competitive trash talking is healthy. I like the swagger. Keeps the intensity up and makes you bring your A-game.

I'm glad some of the players are doing it. They certainly don't get any motivation from the coaching staff. PTR
stevewin Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I just read the practice notes and was going to post the same thing about the trash talking - love that some guys are showing some emotion and competitiveness. Thought there was another interesting thing later in the article about Rhodes' knee. Let's hope it doesn't become a nagging, recurring thing... Rhodes was limited, due to his sore knee. “It's still bothering me a little bit, but it's nothing. I'm going to work through whatever I've got to work through,” Rhodes said. “It was kind of bothering me a little bit earlier in the summer and it's just something I know I have to work through and it'll go away again and I'll be back jumping around like I was earlier in training camp. "

He seems tough and wants the same from his teammates.

The Big Cat Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I'm glad some of the players are doing it. They certainly don't get any motivation from the coaching staff. PTR What is this supposed to mean? Why did you feel the urge to contribute this? What would have you have coaching staff do? Take measures to deliberately divide the team? Get up in the players' faces and snarl at them? To my knowledge, they DO and HAVE DONE that for as long as they've been at OBD. Do you think Steve Jobs gets up in his workers' faces? Do you suppose Doug McMillen drives to the Wal-Mart on Peach Street in Erie and tells the retards how to greet people? No, he doesn't. For the same reason Dick Jauron doesn't bark at his players as your post implies he should. But here's a news flash for you, DICK JAURON ISN'T OUR ONLY COACH.
