No. 1 pick Raji leaves Green BayViews 1225 Comments The status of the contract negotiations between the Green Bay Packers and first-round draft pick B.J. Raji got more cloudy earlier tonight. Witnesses at Austin Straubel International Airport saw Raji boarding a plane out of Green Bay at around 6 p.m. An employee confirmed to the Journal Sentinel that a "Busari Raji" -- Raji's given name -- checked in for a flight to Chicago. Where Raji is headed or why was not immediately known. Representatives from Athletes First, the firm that represents Raji, did not immediately return phone messages. But it's certainly not a good sign as the ninth overall pick's holdout will undoubtedly stretch into a 12th day on Wednesday.

I'm sorry, but isn't this the kind of information that airline or airport personnel should not be sharing with the media, or anyone else for that matter?

Are the Bengals any closer to signing Andre Smith? What about the Jaguars and Eugene Monroe? It seems to me that all of these remaining teams wih unsigned first rounders are having a tough time.

Is this all because of Crabtree?

Yes and no. The crazy B.S. going on with Crabtree deal is giving the remaining picks' agents pause, as Crabtree is being overly outlandish in his demands as well as dealing with a San Fran front office that is notoriously flaky and clueless.

The other picks' agents recognize this and are scared to death to pull the trigger with Crabtree still hanging out there. One perceived bad deal can cost an agent a lot of business down the line.

However, besides this there really isn't any reason these remaining players besides Crabtree can't sign today if they chose to - the money is fairly easy to figure out at this point, but their agents are agents for a reason and have persuaded them to stay put.

These players need to get a contract that they feel good about. Not worry what someone at 10 MAY get. Take owenershup of your career and get in to camp!
