Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Could be absolutely nothing, but still a bit odd. Jauron said Owens was "excused" from this mornings walkthrough and that he would address it further tonight.
Fan in Chicago Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 "He'll be excused," said Jauron. "I'll address it further tonight." Just got the text myself. My first reaction is 'wtf' ?
DPR4444 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Could be absolutely nothing, but still a bit odd. Jauron said Owens was "excused" from this mornings walkthrough and that he would address it further tonight. from SI PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) -- Terrell Owens was not present for the Buffalo Bills' morning walkthrough two days after the receiver complained about a sore toe following the team's preseason opener. Coach Dick Jauron would only say Tuesday morning that Owens was excused from practice, but declined to say why. Jauron said he would update reporters after the Bills' night practice. Owens complained about an aching toe in a comment posted on his Twitter.com site shortly after the Bills lost to Tennessee, 21-18, in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, on Sunday. Owens had two catches for 27 yards in his Bills debut, and played one series as did most of the team's offensive starters. Owens did not mention the toe injury to reporters after the game. Fewell733 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 well on Twitter sunday night, TO said his toe was sore. could be related.
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Just hope its not turf toe...That injury is such a pain in the ass, especially for wideouts coming in and out of their breaks.
scribo Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 He mentioned in his post-game interview on NBC Sunday night that he stubbed his toe.

Something along the lines of, You had a very good start even though you said you stubbed your toe. T.O. nodded and started talking about the game.
Fewell733 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 even if its turf toe its still barely even mid august. better now than a month from now.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I just hope it's nothing...attitude...related. The last thing we need is a pissed off TO one week into preseason.
BillnutinHouston Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Boy some of you are really on a hair trigger...
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 This just shows the problem we have with text messages, twitts and all these other quick information mechanisms. The full story is never provided. This is the same problem I see in business folks reading emails on Crackberries etc vs a full client and responding to the first sentence only. TO missed a practice with a sore toe, is it likely he was excused so the staff could take a better look at it and DJ didnt want to comment till report was in. It could be JUST a sore toe let the staff do their jobs and wait for the full freaking report.
Lori Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 False. It was the fist thing the woman interviewing T.O. on the field right after the game said. Something along the lines of, You had a very good start even though you said you stubbed your toe. T.O. nodded and started talking about the game. I assume that when John used the word "reporters," he was referring to himself and the others involved in the standard postgame session with Owens. And since they would have been on their way to the locker room, they wouldn't have seen the TV interview.

BillsGuyInMalta Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 PFT is confirming it's because of a "sore" toe. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...-has-a-bad-toe/ Rest up TO, I wouldn't even play him on Saturday...we know what he can do, let him get 100%.

And since they would have been on their way to the locker room, they wouldn't have seen the TV interview. that's correct, Lori. wasn't aware of that. also, The AP wouldn't have run this story today regarding the "toe injury" simply based on a tweet. only thing that's unknown is the severity of the injury. stay tuned. jw
BillsGuyInMalta Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Say it's a broken toe...any idea how long that takes to heal? Also, that would explain why Jauron couldn't comment on it (based on John's explanation). If TO is getting x-rays or other tests done on it currently, they probably wont have the results until later.
