WWVaBeach Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Just watched America's Game-The Lost Rings 1990 Buffalo Bills on NFL Network I tried to will that friggin ball through the uprights but it was still wide right. By the time the show was over I was in tears as if it was live. 18 1/2 years later and it STILL HURTS!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

ganesh Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Scott Norwood! Blasphemy.....The Bills Offense and Defense put him in such a hard position...... The Bills could have run Thurman Thomas more during that drive....He would have got it to a 35 yard field goal.... The defense could not stop the Giants for 8 minutes on the drive.....Not a single lick on their QB.....
DC Tom Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 It's the mark of a true Bills fan that, when you watch that replay, you think for a half-second that maybe this time...
bladiebla Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Scott Norwood! Bleh hardly fair; if they didnt put Norwood in that position it wouldnt have mattered...

Chandler#81 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Yeah BUT! It's our legacy, in the league Ralph was WISEST enough to attempt to compete against. Like the most recent labor relation agreement, Ralph was RIGHT being 'wrong'. I'm good with it 'cause the story isn't told yet. Just the prelude. Go Bills!!
gomper Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 My God....must we do this again? OK.let me count the ways..... Superior gameplan by the Giants Unwillingness to adjust in time by the Bills Matt Bahr's tackle on Don Smith on the opening kickoff preventing a TD The tip on the Lofton 60 yarder that could have resulted in a TD Hoss holding onto the ball as Bruce and the boys smacked him down in the endzone. Reed hearing footsteps as he dropped a sure first down on a 3rd n 2 at midfield after the safety that might of had us on the way to a blowout. The 7 min+ drive at the end of the 1st half that got the Giants back in the game The 9 min+ drive to start the 2nd half the featured some of the worst team defensive tackling ever captured on film (3rd n 13 being the ultimate in how not to tackle) Not running Thurman more despite facing a 2-3-6 for most of the game The d-line wearing down as the 4th wore on. Bennett almost with an INT on the Giants go ahead drive Not getting closer (or in the middle of the field) for the final FG attempt Norwood not coming through despite the angle and length I'm sure I missed many other key moments...still hurts

I get that feeling too. Bizarre. I wonder if Phillies fans still get that feeling when they see Joe Carter's home run, or if that feeling stopped now that the Phillies won a World Series.

Thanks everyone for reminding me of this. I may have to go kick the dog now.

PJBrown Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 My wife, a Titans fan as I married a native Nashvillian, thinks I'm crazy because I made her watch a replay of that game once with one of our good friends from our Bills backers club in Nashville, and we were cheering and yelling like it was a live game. She said it really made her understand me better after the anguish at the end. For what it's worth she has been to 3 games in the Ralph since we married in 2006 (i'm 43 so I remember XXV distinctly) and just asked me if she could wear my Poz jersey for the 09/20 Tamba game we are going up for!!!
