ICE Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Auburn gained points and took some from both USC and OU by NOT playing this week. As close as Auburn is to OU I have a feeling they bypass OU in BOTH Polls with a win over Georgia. Man that would suck. Get bypassed because you are winning? I'd like to see Some of these teams go into Stillwater or College station and try winning there. It's flat out tough. I am NOT by any stretch saying Auburn isn't great, they are, but damn. Penalise a team because they won ON THE ROAD against teams that are top 25 teams AND always play you well? Playoffs people...Playoffs.

If they can do it in divisions 1-AA, II, & III, why not in 1-A? Here's another joke, Florida State is ranked number 12 in the BCS. This is a team that loses to Miami & Maryland, squeaks by Syracuse, and beats Wake Forest by 3 points. And despite all of that, they are ranked 12th? That puts them ahead of West Virginia, Tennessee, Louisville, Oklahoma St. & Texas A&M. There is no way that the Seminoles are that good.
Guest Trojans4ever Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Both Cal and SC are better than OU. And our cheerleaders are smokin' hot.

DPR4444 Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Question - if USC is still number 1 at the end of the year, will the Rose Bowl be the championship game? or would USC have to bypass the Rose Bowl and play somewhere else for the national championship?

And there isn't anyone who fallows college football that can scream it doesn't exist. IT DOES.

If not then they are not national champs. AP and other polls be damned.
Mark Vader Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Trojans4ever Posted Today, 12:39 PM Both Cal and SC are better than OU. And our cheerleaders are smokin' hot. Of course SC's cheerleaders are hot, they wear those form fitting white sweaters all the time. Cal won in every area of the game against USC except on the scoreboard. On an off topic of that game, did anyone notice that when CAL played USC, College Gameday was there. There were signs from Trojans fans that said "Go Home Hippies" & "Beat the Commies", someone even had a sign of the CAL logo, and morphed the "C", into a hammer & sickle. Pretty damn funny, but OUCH!
Guest Guest_eyedog_* Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 The Utes are in more trouble than anybody. They will end up going undefeated and still not get in the top-6.
Alaska Darin Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 College football is the only Division I sport that doesn't have a playoff. The NCAA needs to get their head out.

Rubes Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 The Utes are in more trouble than anybody. They will end up going undefeated and still not get in the top-6. 109818[/snapback] True, but it was still fun to say that.

Doesn't matter who goes to the Orange Bowl.

BuffOrange Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 As much as I don't like Auburn, I have to say they belong in the title game if they win out. The SEC is simply a better conference than the Big 12 or Pac 10 this year. Besides, it was a joke that Oklahoma got to play in the Sugar Bowl last year (not that that has anything to do w/ this year). I wouldn't worry too much though because I just don't see Auburn running the table. It's going to be very difficult to get by Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. It's also a big spin-job to say that Oklahoma is getting unfairly "penalized". Auburn is the team getting penalized for not being ranked as high in the preseason - which OUGHT to be meaningless.

Talk about stojan...Utah wins by 30 points and drops in the BCS. From now on can we call it the BSChampionship? As for someone's question about the Rose Bowl...they agreed that for the championship game only they would let the Pac 10 team out of their committment to the Rose.
DeeRay Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 and now nebraska has had the best recruiting seaosn in the big 12 and #2 in the entire nation.
flomoe Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Go Boise State!!!!! Yeah I know, no chance in hell but they are one fun team to watch. Did anyone catch their thrashing of Hawaii a couple weeks ago? They might not be able to compete head to head with the USC's, OU's or Auburn's but I would love to see them play a team like Texas, Michigan or even Commie Cal. They would have to play at home though because that Blue turf drives everyone nuts, lol.
