Tcali Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Let's see the positive test results from 2007. Haven't seen any or heard any reports of them. cough
Tom Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I mean...non drug enhanced. When was the last Yankee legit championship?
billsfreak Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 If it would help the Bills win the Lombardi Trophy, I wouldnt give a crap if the whole team was taking a bath in performance inhancing drug water. As far as I am concerned, all of Bostons rings are legit. The only championship in recent years that I would question as far as being legit would be the Steelers win over the Seahawks-the officiating gave Seattle the shaft big time in that game.

ExiledInIllinois Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 1970 Stanley Cup Bruins... Oh wait, that year they played the STL Blues that came out of the West... Everbody in that division was an EXPANSION team...
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 When was the last Yankee legit championship? 26 in 100 years... That makes one about every 4 years. Take your pick: World Series titles (26) 2000 • 1999 • 1998 • 1996 1978 • 1977 • 1962 • 1961 1958 • 1956 • 1953 • 1952 1951 • 1950 • 1949 • 1947 1943 • 1941 • 1939 • 1938 1937 • 1936 • 1932 • 1928 1927 • 1923 AL Pennants (39) [1] 2003 • 2001 • 2000 • 1999 1998 • 1996 • 1981 • 1978 1977 • 1976 • 1964 • 1963 1962 • 1961 • 1960 • 1958 1957 • 1956 • 1955 • 1953 1952 • 1951 • 1950 • 1949 1947 • 1943 • 1942 • 1941 1939 • 1938 • 1937 • 1936 1932 • 1928 • 1927 • 1926 1923 • 1922 • 1921

jax bill backer Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 You're wasting your breath, here...it is amazing how much the NBA is truly despised by most on this board...not me mind you... but it will only turn into cliches' about "thugs", "traveling on every play", officiating, etc etc... in my opinion, anyways, the NBA is putting out a pretty damn good product these days, after it's post-Jordan malaise... most who hate the game, haven't watched it, or at least not watched it recently... the reason why people hate it on this board is that it is currently beating the nhl in popularity.. I hate the NBA as well
Numark Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 We already have one....Brett Hull was in the crease.
Justice Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Let's see the positive test results from 2007. Haven't seen any or heard any reports of them. Until they figure out how to detect HGH use, there won't be any. I think anyone from Buffalo would gladly accept a "tainted" Lombardi Trophy or Lord Stanley's Cup at this point. Not me. I want my championship to have more purity than a new born baby.
Offside Number 76 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 the reason why people hate it on this board is that it is currently beating the nhl in popularity.. I hate the NBA as well Not an NBA fan, but this year's Eastern Conference final was incredibly entertaining. As for the last legit Boston championship team besides the 2008 Celtics, I think it's probably the 1986 Celtics. Unless we include college sports--then I think BU's hockey team has it.

Nanker Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 So, even though ManRam and Big Pill-Poppy are on the 2003 list, you're willing to believe they cleaned up after that? (Well, until Ramirez' latest little "misunderstanding.") Eh. And for the record, I hate all Boston and NYC teams equally. You shouldn't hate.
billsfreak Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 the reason why people hate it on this board is that it is currently beating the nhl in popularity.. I hate the NBA as well I don't like or watch the NBA, but I would guess the reason why it is hated so much on this board is because Buffalo hasn't had a team in about 35 years. If they did it would be better received, just like the Braves were.
iinii Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I mean...non drug enhanced or spy cam involved championship team?Perhaps Bailey Howell was on that team...but they did have espionage even back in those days--it was just morre subtle who cares?
KD in CA Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 2007 Red Sox. So Manny was roiding in '03, cleaned up in '07, and started using again in '09. That sounds reasonable.

I agree, the NBA has an exciting product now. Perhaps I am wasting my time telling that too western New Yorkers. I am a western NYer living in Boston and I have to say I got pretty swept up in the Celtics championship run. I figure I hate the Pats so much but I feel as a Boston resident that I should support at least on Boston team. Only a handful of Sundays left until regular season football. Can't wait. Go BILLS!!
