BillsNYC Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Couldn't see the 3rd down catch by Lee Evans at the end of the game. All the Jests were in the way. Was the catch good?

MattyT Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Looked good on TV. His right foot was clearly in and he appeared to drag his toes on the left. Thing of beauty.
Thailog80 Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Yes it was good. If they challenged it I was confident that it would've still stood.
Beerball Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Yes it was good. If they challenged it I was confident that it would've still stood. 109320 Absolutely agree. Now hopefully DB will look Evans way more often. He made two outstanding catches on Sunday and really helped save the day.
duey Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Yes it was good. If they challenged it I was confident that it would've still stood. 109320 Yep. Replay would have been inconclusive at worst.
Buckeye Eric Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Can you say Bob Chandler? Both it and the TD catch were fantastic.
jarthur31 Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I am clueless as to why they don't incorporate him more in the offense.
MattyT Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I am clueless as to why they don't incorporate him more in the offense. 109644 I am confident that they will, but the Bills have just come off of a number of games where the wind was a major liability to the passing game no matter which way they were facing. Evans, being the deep ball threat, has unfortunately been a victim of the fact that the deep ball is a low-percentage play when the ball flight is unpredictable. They incorrectly, IMO, didn't use him in shorter passes because that is "supposedly" Josh Reed's role. That perception is changing. Wait till the winds aren't so treacherous and sparks will fly. I don't think that they have any away games in domes.
flomoe Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I am clueless as to why they don't incorporate him more in the offense. 109644 Just a hunch here but my guess would be that his presence on the field is considered incorporating enough. If Evans is able to run to Go route several times, thus clearing the DB and FS, that opens the underneath (high percentage) ball to Moulds, etc. Plus the fact that the Bills have rarely thrown the ball of late is another indication that the braintrust is thinking, run the ball and don't let Drew lose this for us. Just my opinion but it seems to make sense.
Rico Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 It was a great play by Evans, & I think he will start to see more balls thrown his way with each passing week. GO EVANS!
