BuffOrange Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Point per reception league on top of standard other scoring. Only 8 teams in the league and had the 5th pick (in order below). Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, TE, K, DEF. Maurice Jones-Drew Andre Johnson Wes Welker Ryan Grant Aaron Rodgers Jason Witten Pittsburgh D DeSean Jackson Jerricho Crotchery Tony Romo Kevin Smith Felix Jones Kevin Walter Rashard Mendenhall Mason Crosby Pretty nasty even for 8 teams. Kevin Smith is lol value, as are the 1st two picks and Witten. Maybe I look for a bigger play guy 3rd even though Welker is as safe as it gets in ppr. A- Quote

Love Colston at 33rd. Schaub is a little early even though I like him a lot. McFadden, DJax, Hester, and Brown are all sick value. Davis totally worth a late flyer as well. Yet another awesome league to be in it looks like. Don't really see any weaknesses tbh. A Quote
KD in CA Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 12 teams; start 1 each - QB/RB/WR/TE and 3 W/R/T Flex. PPR = 1 TDs = 6. I'm a little concerned about Bowe (Wayne/Boldin/White/Jennings all went in the 6 picks prior after I had grabbed Brady) and RB depth, but the format allows for huge flexibility and obvious incentive to start lots of receivers. Smart move in taking Brady rather than reaching on a WR in the 2nd if that was the case. Although when you take him, you're sort of all-in on him so I don't think it's worth taking a back-up as early as the 10th. Same with TE; don't even bother with a back-up, just pick another RB there. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the IDP's but the offense looks pretty good to me. B/B+ Quote

TO I don't like as a WR1 with 10 teams. Cinco I think will be a fine #2. 8 WR's seems a little ridiculous; I would've picked up RB depth where you got Gage/Cotchery. Bryant and Mason should be good enough reserves. Brees or Jacobs in the 3rd round is insane though, so that helps. B- Quote

Kevbeau Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 12 team league (Picked 5th). Starting lineup - QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, FLEX(RB/WR/TE), D, K....Pretty Much Standard Scoring DeAngelo Williams Roddy White Philip Rivers Marshawn Lynch DeSean Jackson Steve Breaston Ray Rice Carson Palmer Lance Moore LeSean McCoy Nate Washington Cadillac Williams Neil Akers Washington D Jermichael Finley My thoughts: I think I have a solid core, but need one of my secondary receivers to step up. Feel like I have a lot of upside to my RB's, but will limp along unil Marshawn returns. Best Pick: Ray Rice in the 7th. I think he's the man in B'more this year. Worst Pick: (TIE) Big reach for Nate Washington with my 11th pick. Probably could have had him off the WW and grabbed Fred Jackson with this pick. Also since we don't need to start a TE, picking Finley in the 15th was kind of a waste. Sleeper: Cadillac Williams. Has looked like the Caddy of old so far this pre-season. Quote

I enjoy your reviews. I agree--I'm thinking of moving a RB once Lynch comes off suspension. I waited too long to get a back-up QB; I think guys like Pennington, Campbell, and Delhomme are still out there though. Quote

Yah Rice is generally going like 4 rounds higher than he was a month ago; probably for good reason; getting him 7th is great. Breaston going ahead of him is a huge WTF to me; probably could've had him around where you got Moore, especially if you got DJax a round earlier. Wasn't Evans or Holmes or someone available there instead? Rivers & Lynch are also about a round too early for me but whatever... Lots of things I'd have done differently but it's not a bad starting lineup by any means for 12 teams. B- Quote
JimBob2232 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Completed my "main" draft tonight. Had 3 keepers. Boldin, OchoCinco, Chris Johnson. 10 team, PPR, 2RB-3WR-1 WR/RB. 6pt TDs. QB: Romo, Schaub RB: Chris Johnson, Jones-Drew, Kevin Smith, Marion Barber WR: Boldin, Ocho Cinco, E. Royal, S. Holmes, L. Evans, Josh Morgan, Kenny Britt TE: Winslow DEF: San Diego PK: Rakers Not at all how I thought this was going to go, but Jones-Drew slipping to me at #4 threw me off my game. I planed on taking Andre Johnson/Reggie Wayne as well as my keepers and finding a RB later on...but I couldnt pass up Jones-Drew and then Wayne didnt fall (2 picks earlier) Thoughts? Quote

Could be wrong but I feel like some of you guys are going to WR heavy in ppr's. MJD is a no-brainer there. Is Britt really worth more than a 5th RB? You're never gonna play the dude. Also there's a 0% chance I would ever have Winslow on any of my teams this yr. But whatever I'm nitpicking - disgusting team. Two RB1's, two RB2's, a WR1, a WR2, and two WR3's. A- Quote

A- Well...honestly things got a little hectic towards the end and I couldnt figure out who I wanted. This is a keeper league and I think Britt has the potential to be a #1. As far as a 5th RB goes, best out there are the likes of Rickey Williams, Glenn Coffee, Caddilac williams and James Davis. Maybe I should take a flier on Davis. As for TE. I would love to pick up Jermicheal Finley...but again, I dont have a roster spot for him. Quote

KD in CA Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 12 teams; QB/2-RB/2-WR/Flex/TE. PPR = .5 Passing TDs = 4. I may have panicked a bit with McNabb since QBs were starting to disappear (could have taken Palmer later) and my RB depth is predicated on either Brown or Mendenhall getting a lot of work, which I think is increasingly likely as the year goes on, so I took them both earlier than ADP. I just didn't like the Jamel Lewis/Jonathan Stewart type alternatives. Overall I like it, but not in love with it. angrygnome Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Way to keep it classy with the drunken bowling alley. That's worth a half letter grade. I haven't done a 2QB league but I'm pretty sure it's correct to fade the traditional strategy of waiting on a QB. That's an ugly QB lineup. OTOH your league mates likely went overboard if you were able to get such a sick RB trio so you were able to pick up great value with SJax and Gore... Not sure it's a good enough tradeoff since you have neither a top 10 WR or an elite TE. Would definitely try to make some trades. C- I made a bunch of trades, and wanted to get your oppinion on my updated roster: QBS: Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Marc Bulger RBS: Matt Forte, Stephen Jackson, Frank Gore, Cedric Benson, Jamal Lewis WRS: Greg Jennings, Dwayne Bowe, Hines Ward, Devin Hester, Devery Henderson, Jeremy Maclin T.E: Kellen Winslow, Greg Olsen, Dustin Keller K: Ryan Longwell D/ST: Bears, New Orleans (great week one play vs DET) Quote
