Lori Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3077 Judd just received a phone call from Brad Childress who said he talked to Brett Favre and that he was informed that Favre is staying retired. Childress cited the daily grind both mentally and physically as part of the reason why Favre remained retired. "Judd" is Judd Zulgad, the Strib's Vikings beat writer. EDIT: Surprise, surprise. Aug. 18: Favre signs with Minnesota, forcing an edit to the title of this thread. Good call, bills44.
WVUFootball29 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Interesting, not quite the outcome I had expected. Of course he may wake up tomorrow and change his mind....again....
Phlegm Alley Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Good. Everyone can get on with their lives now.
RLflutie7 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3077 "Judd" is Judd Zulgad, the Strib's Vikings beat writer. And it says Jeff George is in town.
Pitta Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Wanna talk about a huge knee to the balls of the Vikings. Ouch... Brad had best start repairing the psyche of his qb's right now! Also, anyone think they may turn their attention to Vick now?
The Dean Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Wanna talk about a huge knee to the balls of the Vikings. Ouch... Brad had best start repairing the psyche of his qb's right now! Also, anyone think they may turn their attention to Vick now? I hope it is them. I really hope it isn't the Steelers, as I'm a Steeler fan, too.
Pitta Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Any clinical psychologists out there? What on earth did he stand to gain by all of this - if anything, he made himself look even more foolish than if he were to have signed. Right about now, Brad Childress has to be thinking about what a dick tease Favre is. Favre teased Childress until the last possible second and left him with blue balls and 2 QBs that no longer trust him. "I thought you wanted it Brett?" "Sorry, Chilly....I'm just not into bald guys."
PromoTheRobot Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 It never is. Agreed. Tomorrow's breaking news will be "Favre reconsiders." PTR
BuffaloWings Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I hope it is them. I really hope it isn't the Steelers, as I'm a Steeler fan, too. I hops it's anyone other than the team in Orchard Park.
buckeyemike Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 as I'm a Steeler fan, too. (((shakes head))) I remember finding that out right before the Super Bowl started.

bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 In other news Fransico Franco is still dead
The Dean Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 exactly what i was thinking, but at least now espn can report on something else! Yes they can. But will they?
BillsWatch Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Farve said his health could not handle a 16 game season. If a playoff-bound team loses a QB in last quarter of year his answer could be different.
Pitta Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 exactly what i was thinking, but at least now espn can report on something else! Now we can get more T.O. reports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steely Dan Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3077 "Judd" is Judd Zulgad, the Strib's Vikings beat writer. Favre will probably show up the Saturday before the first game and be shocked the team has gone on with other plans. I hope it is them. I really hope it isn't the Steelers, as I'm a Steeler fan, too. I'd love to see him sign with the ! One dog pound visit a year!!
Fan in Chicago Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3077 "Judd" is Judd Zulgad, the Strib's Vikings beat writer. Apparently a popular T-shirt in the Green Bay area is one with Favre's face surrounded by a Wisconsin map with the words "We will never forget you Brent"
