MadBuffaloDisease
It's too bad. Even though he wasn't a great HC, Wannstedt seemed like a classy guy.
Pete
Best news I've heard all season! Maybe the Pats will fire BB and hire Gilbride to be their head coach! It would be about as boneheaded as that move. 109004 No way! Best news would be if the Dolphins signed whanstat to a 10 year extention
BB2004
It's too bad. Even though he wasn't a great HC, Wannstedt seemed like a classy guy. 109006 He is a good guy, but every head coaching job he had, he's lost.

MadBuffaloDisease
He is a good guy, but every head coaching job he had, he's lost. 109010 I know, that's why I said he's not a great HC (or even a good one). Just that I have a soft spot in my heart for genuinely good guys, and he seemed like one. I'd take him as a DC in a heartbeat.
MadBuffaloDisease
No the best news would be that the Dols signed Spurrier to a 10-year contract. I can't stand Spurrier and he sucks as a HC.

MadBuffaloDisease
I wonder who will replace him? 109018 DC Jim Bates in the interim. But hopefully Spurrier for many, many years. Actually I think it will be Saban.

MadBuffaloDisease
Charlie Weis 109028 I'd be fine with that. He'll need to rebuild Miami first, and his loss would be a big blow for the Pats.
PromoTheRobot
Wanny is just the latest Fin to jump ship. My hope is they sign Spurrier. They are circling the drain now. Spurrier will send them right down the disposal. PTR
ndmanley
At least that is what ESPN is reporting... 108998 As Wanny did with Chicago, he did win with other coach's players. But as his time wore on, those guys either left or got old. His guys could never replace them. Slowly but surely his teams got progressively worse. It is a sad day. Wanny's slowly guided Miami all the way to the basement. It is a shame he won't stay to keep them there. If Spurrier is the guy, hopefully he is as inept as he was in Washington. PromoTheRobot
Charlie Weis 109028 I question Weis' contribution to the Pats. He is blessed with players who can execute, a QB with pinpoint accuracy, and some damn lucky calls. Folks here in NE question his play calling, and believe Brady saves his bacon. I'd hire DC Romeo Cromell before I'd hire Weis. PTR
Mile High
42 and 31 in the regular season. 1 and 2 in the playoffs. Not bad but I guess not good enough. Classy guy and all but not a great supporting cast this year.
Talonz
I am sure he will get hired quickly next year. His record actually isn't bad. The Dolphins are so putrid that I doubt even Vince Lombardi could help them at this point.
Grant
Yeah, that's exactly what the ESPN commentators said, Talonz. Word for word. Original thought. ANYway, I don't think Wanny will get another HC job too soon... I think most people realize that he was just coasting on the team that Jimmy Johnson built, and Wanny had more to do with the implosion of the team than Ricky did. Wanny set that team up for a fall, Ricky was simply the catalyst.
Alaska Darin
I hope they win all but one game the rest of the way. Not because Wanny's leaving, but so they move down some in the draft (and we could use some help). I REALLY hate the Dolphins
