Lot cheaper than $54. At least you saw a good game.....
Dan Gross Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 If you have "road hazard" coverage on your car insurance you can get that reimbursed. Don't ask me how I know.

(havn't done that myself, but know someone who did...) CW

Nothing better than driving 65 down the road with no windshield.
Smizzy Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Call Wayne Szalinski....have him shrink you down small enough to fit into your tailpipe...crawl up thru the engine and when you get into the radiator take a left.....2 right and another left and you should be able to pop out the Ac duct. Let me know how you make out
DC Tom Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Why would you break the windshield and not a different window? Nothing better than driving 65 down the road with no windshield. 108931 Because a lot of glass replacement companies now will come out and do the replacement on the spot - they come to you, you don't go to them.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 If you have power locks the best thing to do is try to get a hanger or something else with some stiffness to it and get it through the weatherstripping and push down the power lock button. I've done this at least twice.

I ALWAYS keep a spare in my pocket.
Just Jack Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 As Jay said, find out how you can break into your own car. One car I had, with a screwdriver and a hanger, I could get into it in under 20 seconds.
MDH Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 or something else with some stiffness to it and get it through the weatherstripping and push down the power lock button. 108965 That sounds...err....painful
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 That sounds...err....painful 109032 I knew there was no way for me to say it without someone taking it "that way"
Fezmid Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Because a lot of glass replacement companies now will come out and do the replacement on the spot - they come to you, you don't go to them. 108954 Exactly. Plus, apparantly windshield replacement is easier and is 100% free, while a lot of insurance companies charge for side/rear windows. CW
Hammered a Lot Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 You must take care triing to Jimmy a locked car which has side air bags in the doors. You could deploy them with the slim jim tool. It is easier to get in on the passenger front door.
mead107 Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 got a hide away key and stuck it on this morning . now if i can only rember where i put it ?

dib Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Once, someone unlocked my Pathfinder's door with half a cinderblock. I know it was a half because I found it in the truck. After rummaging around the POS took my favorite baseball cap and a lunch box. That's it. I called the police and they told me that they wouldnt send anyone out, thye just gave me a case number.
TigerJ Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I'm crossing my fingers. The last time I locked myself out of my car was about 20 years ago. The old coathanger trick worked on my Chevy Chevette. I'm not so sure I could do it today.
Paco Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 All this talk about the lock, and not one person thought to ask the important question: What kind of wine did you get?
