BringMetheHeadofLeonLett Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Fred Biletnikoff, Lester Hayes, Cliff Branch, Jack Tatum
Chandler#81 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Elbert Dubenion & Glenn Bass. George Saimes & Butch Byrd.
KRC Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Need to give some love for the old-timers: Offense: Gail Cogdill Jim Gibbons Defense: Night Train Lane Yale Larry and in the same defensive backfield: Dick LeBeau Offense: Dante Lavelli Mac Speedie Defense: Cliff Lewis Tommy James
tennesseeboy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Other than KFC's picks (Even I'm too old to remember them...althought Night Train Lane is a legend) I like all of the picks INCLUDING the homer pick. Bass is soooo under rated as a receiver.
stuckincincy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 OAK, 1968 deserves a mention. Biletnikoff, Warren Wells, Willie Brown, Dave Greyson were a nice bunch on a 12-2 club. 1st in AFL scoring (32.2 ave. per game), 2nd lowest in points allowed (16.6 ppg). The Mad Bomber flung 25 td passes. Blanda added another 6. Blanda, Biletnikoff, and Brown are in the HOF.
Quester74 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Rice, Taylor, Lott and ? I don't ever recall Lott playing corner.. Oops.. nm, it says DB, not specifically corner.. in that case.. Terrell Owens, Lee Evans, Donte Whitner & Leodis McKelvin (by the end of this season)

Terrell Owens, Lee Evans, Donte Whitner & Leodis McKelvin (by the end of this season) Lott began his career in San Fransisco as a corner before moving to safety. He was an excellent corner.
stuckincincy Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Well, I'll throw some to the not so old timers, @ least in terms of the secondary: Dennis Smith and Steve Atwater Outstanding tandem @ safety. Carnell Lake and Rod Woodson were a nice pair of dbs.
R. Rich Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Carnell Lake and Rod Woodson were a nice pair of dbs. Well, in terms of the entire secondary, they also had Thomas Everett, who was very good as well @ the other safety spot (Woodson was a corner then). Everett would go on to get a couple picks in the massacre that was Super Bowl XVII.

I recall a CIN-PGH game where Lake perfectly punched the ball away from the certifiable Carl Pickens as he was streaking along the left sideline for a sure td.
Quester74 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Ok, I know no one is going to like this, but.. Randy Moss/Wes Welker & Asante Samuel/Rodney Harrison
Sisyphean Bills Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Stallworth & Swan. Blount & Wagner. Nailed it.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 1994 niners have to be up there for me: Deon, Rice, Taylor.... Merton Hanks or Tim Mcdonald fight it out for the 4th
