Glass To The Arson Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 By the end of the 2009 season... here are 5 things you will see... (this would be alot better if the pictures worked!) http://assets.sbnation.com/imported_assets...9d37761a08c.jpg 1. Keith Ellison will be signed to a 4 year 12 million dollar contract Keith Ellison finished off the season with 85 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 interceptions. After being thrown under the bus by Bills fan prior to the 2009 season, Keith Ellison is signed long term. The young LB core has filled the outside role that the Bills need. http://www.everyjoe.com/files/2009/03/terr...zaf-cp4-031.jpg 2. T.O. signed a 2 year, 15 million dollar contract After a successful season in Buffalo with 1250 yards and 9 TDs, Terrell Owens is the spotlight showstopper in Buffalo for another 2 years. Get your popcorn ready, Buffalo! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UDBc9acAnhM/R7mZ...alph-wilson.jpg 3. Jim Kelly first in line to purchase the Buffalo Bills During the offseason of 2009, little did we know that Ralph and Jim have been working on a plan to keep the Bills legacy in Buffalo. Jim Kelly is first in line to purchase the Bills. http://i31.tinypic.com/2lwxkeq.jpg 4. Rumors swirl and plans are set for new downtown Buffalo stadium With Kelly first in line for Bills purchase - the gears are already being turned for a downtown stadium. Apparently Byron Brown has confirmed that the East Side of Buffalo has been completely demolished, which will be the new home for the construction site/ soon to be stadium. http://www.2010-super-bowl.com/Buffalo_Bil...ent-edwards.jpg 5. Edwards finally gets his deal - 5 year 40 million dollar contract After leading the team into the playoffs in 2009, Edwards has been rewarded with a brand new contract. His 3,634 yard 26 touchdown performance is just a sign of things to come for the Buffalo Bills quarterback. He is on top of the charts in fantasy league draft boards. Of course its just make believe... ( and I'm at work with free time for the negative nancys! )
The Dean Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Actually, it would be better if you simply posted the URLs without the . At least the links would be clickable. EDIT: Instead of just complaining...here ya go: http://assets.sbnation.com/imported_assets...9d37761a08c.jpg http://www.everyjoe.com/files/2009/03/terr...zaf-cp4-031.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UDBc9acAnhM/R7mZ...alph-wilson.jpg http://i31.tinypic.com/2lwxkeq.jpg http://www.2010-super-bowl.com/Buffalo_Bil...ent-edwards.jpg EDIT #2: Now that I see the images, I realize they add absolutely nothing to the post. This makes me even happier we don't have the option to post images, as this would have been a classic misuse of the function.

Johnny Hammersticks Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 It is refreshing to see a 100% positive post on here. I hope all of these things happen....especially Jim Kelly buying the team and a new stadium downtown. May be looking at our situation with "rose colored glasses" a bit, but I like that. I wake up every Sunday during the season feeling like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Fair or foul, I love the Bills!!

I just love waking up, and instead of running to the xmas tree, I run to the television!
The Dean Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I wake up every Sunday during the season feeling like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Fair or foul, I love the Bills!! Same here. After living for years on the West Coast, it is very hard to wait until 1PM for kickoff. I used to love waking up at 8am to ESPN's Gameday coverage, and being somewhere with cocktail in hand before 10AM.

You just have to wait a little longer for the game to start.

I wake up every Sunday during the season feeling like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Fair or foul, I love the Bills!! Mr. grouchy Ralph Wilson has clearly stated in his will that the team will go to the highest bidder. There is no hometown discount. If the highest bidder wants to move the team, it will be moved. The truth of the matter is that when Jim Kelly stated publicly that he had a syndicate ready to buy the team he was told by Mr. Wilson and his representatives to shut up and stop bringing up the subject. That is why he has been very quiet since he got spanked by the team authorities. Even Tom Golisano was pointedly told by Ralph and his boys that his public musings about his interest in buying the team was not appreciated. The only way a stadium is going to be built in downtown Buffalo is when California bogus IOU notes are considered legal tender in New York state. Let's get real here. Sometimes reality is not palatable, but it is still reality. Ralph Wilson doesn't give a hoot about the team staying or moving when he passes. His priority in life and death is to maximize his asset. Anyone who doesn't understand that at this point is a fool.
Tcali Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 You don't have to be on the West Coast to enjoy a Cocktail before 10 AM. You just have to wait a little longer for the game to start. plus you'll be able to tolerate the mess that you've seen out there for the past 10 years
BillnutinHouston Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I would love to be on board with the stadium thing, but first can someone please explain how a new stadium for the Bills changes any of the economics FOR THE BETTER? - Will WNY'ers suddenly be able to afford personal seat licenses or season ticket packages/suites at double their current cost? - How will the taxpayers or the Bills themselves taking on massive new debt for a stadium help either the Bills' bottom line from where it is now (when there is currently no debt service), or help the taxpayers be able to afford the higher cost of seats and suites? If you can answer these questions I am on board 100%.

Ralph needs to make plans to sell now, and allow this franchise to finally move forward again. I know I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said thousands of times before. There is no answer to these questions until a Bills future in WNY is guaranteed.

I wake up every Sunday during the season feeling like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Fair or foul, I love the Bills!! I can't agree more. I wish that my kids didn't wake me up so early on Sundays though, there is to much time before the game that I start pacing in anticipation. It's actually going to suck a little this year because of the number of 4'Oclock games. All that time prior to kickoff is going to be nerveracking, except of course the Opener and Cleveland games, that I will be attending.
JohnC Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Unfortunately, with no clear succession plan, if you want to call it that, there is no way you'd see plans for a downtown stadium. Ralph needs to make plans to sell now, and allow this franchise to finally move forward again. I know I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said thousands of times before. There is no answer to these questions until a Bills future in WNY is guaranteed. Ralph Wilson has made it abundantly clear that he is not going to sell the team (not even to minority stake holders) while he is alive. He has clearly stated (very decisvely in his will) that the team will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Whether it goes to an outside the area purchasing group or not is not a concern to the deceased owner. When Jim Kelly publicly talked about the prospective local ownership group he has assembled ready to buy the team he was strongly told to shut up. When Tom Golisano mused that he would be interested in buying the team to ensure that the team stayed in western NY he was told to mind his own business. When Ralph's much younger wife expressed an interest to have the team passed to her he PUBLICLY declared that that would not happen. You can imagine what the sugar daddy husband must have told his wife in private. For those hoping that Ralph Wilson would do the right thing for the loyal fans by selling the team to a local group or any group which wants to stay in the region they are deluding themselves. The team is going to the highest bidder whether it is moved or not. His only concern is getting the highest price for his asset. Anyone who thinks otherwise should read his will. As Larry Felser, the retired writer from the Buffalo News who knows Wilson very well, stated that the most important words in his will for Bills' fans are: THE TEAM MUST BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

crazyDingo Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Glad I clicked on those picture links. I was like, "Terrell who? Oh THAT guy. Is that his name?" We should make this whole website red with blue text, too.
