MattyT Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Don't follow much hockey news any more, but this seemed pretty interesting... http://php.democratandchronicle.com/blog/sports2/
PromoTheRobot Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Ted Nolan = franchise killer. I gues it CAN get worse for Amerks fans. PTR
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Ted Nolan = franchise killer. I gues it CAN get worse for Amerks fans. PTR You're right. Because we all know how successful the Sabres and Islanders were before he got there and made them into playoff teams.
Corp000085 Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 You're right. Because we all know how successful the Sabres and Islanders were before he got there and made them into playoff teams. Ah yes, the sabres equivalent to the flutie/johnson debate...
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Ah yes, the sabres equivalent to the flutie/johnson debate... Ha. I don't know why they are even debates. Flutie helped led the Bills to 2 playoff berths in 2 seasons. RJ was a douche who is the most sacked QB per dropback. Nolan was a very good coach who won Coach of the Year & lost a power struggle. He took over one of the once franchise in sports, the Islanders, and made them into a playoff team in his first season. You could do a million times worse than Ted Nolan.
Corp000085 Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 You could do a million times worse than Ted Nolan. I don't dispute that claim, however, you can do a million times better than Ted Nolan too!
BuffaloBill Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 You're right. Because we all know how successful the Sabres and Islanders were before he got there and made them into playoff teams. Ted Nolan is a great hockey coach ... end of story

shrader Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 How did the Islanders do this year without him? How did they do last year with him? 8 points away from worst in the league. If you want to go looking for an answer to the problems on the island, look no further than Wang. Nolan was there for two years and he got an 8 seed and then was near rock bottom the next. That's not exactly the great turnaround you're trying to paint it as.
