Steely Dan Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Fred Travelina dead at 66. PTR Fred Travelina is a (-Z) list celebrity. I'm not sure you could call him a celebrity at all.
The Dean Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I was in the car with my father this morning and heard this news. My father's reaction was "Who's he?". My dad watches the Tonight Show every night, and has probably seen Fred twice as many times as I have. I guess he didn't make much of an impression.

I vaguely remember the name but cannot picture him. I remember the reference to The Man With 1000 Voices.
The Poojer Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 having had my formative years in the 70's i remember him very well, he was on all the variety shows, love boat, fantasy island...he was a very funny guy, kind of reminded me of jay leno a bit....
buckeyemike Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 If you've seen The Buddy Holly Story, Travelina played Buffalo DJ Madman Mancuso, who locked himself in the studio playing "That'll Be The Day" for twelve hours straight. I remember him...did a very good JFK impression. RIP

Wacka Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 It's going to keep going up as the baby boomer generation gets older. More pepole, more celebrities, more dead celebrities.
