As they blow the horns CONSTANTLY they really don't signify anything other than noise (and an annoying noise at that). It is reminiscent of the time when the wave fad was in full swing. Fans did the wave irrespective of which team had the ball. It was self defeating as an advantage for the team, and annoying to fans who actually wanted to watch the game.

In our (the correct) version, the timing of crowd noise is of course much more important than it is in soccer. Enhanced (prohibited) noisemaking can and has been a problem in the NFL. The major difficulty is enforcement from stadium to stadium. I don't know if the NFL has officials in each stadium monitoring the situation but I would hope so. For many years in the old Orange Bowl in Miami, illegal noise production (ie-pressurized canister air horns) was not enforced. This was during the 70s when we could never beat them. You would watch a game on television and you could clearly hear the air horns all over the stadium. I feel the old Dolphins of that era were just as favored by the league as the Cheatriots* are today. There's also been allegations against the Colts for piping in extra noise when their defense is on the field but those accusations have never been proven.

Once in, inflate said balloon, pinch sides of valve.....slowly release air.....deafening high pitched squeal.....x72,000. When Brady has the ball, it will sound like the SPCA on a megadose of Viagra.

I definitely deserved worse. Good times.

I prefer the drunks over the parents with their two kids. 73000 drunks allows for more of a homefield advantage over 30000 drunks, 21500 sober parents and 21500 clueless kids. This is coming from someone who loved teaching...so no family hater posts. just sayin...

Theres nothing worse when your at a game and you have a family in front of you and wont allow you to be yourself at the game. I happen to be one of the drunken idiots....but, I have picked the craziest seats(end zone) for that reason. Theres a reason why there is a family/no alcohol section.

And every broadcaster complained to FIFA to the point where FIFA is considering a ban on such things as well. They should be banned, I had to turn the sound off on the TV for the US games because my wife couldn't take the constant droning sound.
