Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 On the bills daily McGee got the Goat but I'm wondering if the PTB forgot he picked up a fumble that led to a Bills score. What's up with labelling him a goat this week?
Simon Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 The Jets really made it a point to attack him, as most teams will do with an inexperienced corner. They had some (too much, imo) success doing so but it was a cheap lesson for a guy who is learning how to play at this level right in front of our eyes. I wouldn't go so far as to give him a goat after he played a major role in the play that changed (and, imo ultimately decided) this game, but he he didn't have a good day in the secondary so calling him out is not entirely out of line. MikeG Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 he couldn't cover me this week, that's why well, not really, but you know what I mean.... I know some of that was zone so don't jump all over me, I'm just saying...

While he made a nice return on the fumble, it was just laying there for the taking rather than him making a great play.

He is emerging as a solid return man and I think he can be a decent corner, but he gets picked on and until he proves he can step up opposing QBs will continue to throw his way. I know he recovered a fumble, but when you look at his whole game and what he's paid to do (play CB), he didn't do that well today.
Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 You're right he didn't have a great game but was surprised he got the goat given the pick and run. Anyway, this was a good game against a contender.
Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 Give me time, I'll find some obscure way to find Drew at fault!
Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 He may get picked on and may have had a bad game all around but that doesn't negate his awesome pick and the score that ensued. He didn't deserve a goat. Mayhaps a non-event but not a goat.
Simon Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 given the pick and run...................that doesn't negate his awesome pick and the score that ensued. It wasn't a pick T, it was a fumble recovery. The return was a nice one 'til he ran out of gas, but the turnover itself was made by yet anotehr hustling effort from Fletcher. Cya
Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 Yup, Fletcher was key. But McGee picked it up and ran with it. He is not a goat this week. His grab (is grab an ok description?) set up a touchdown.

Tisaruse Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 <<He gave up almost 150 yards passing today>> He also set up the Bill's first score. Given that the final was 22-17 it made a difference, apparently. He didn't have a banner day. I just don't think he deserved a goat.

He had some plays where he was right there to make the play but misjudged the flight of the ball.

WWVaBeach Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Great return guy...probably one of the worst corners to ever don a Bills uniform.
DPR4444 Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 McGee seemed to be slipping and falling alot in coverage, most obvious on the Jets last TD. But I don't remember him having traction problems on returns yesterday - did anyone else notice?
