I always thought that the Eagles mishandled the situation. For example, the Eagles made a big public fuss when Owens parked his car in a coach's parking space at training camp. This should have been dealt with internally and without great fanfare. Instead, it became a big media story. Many people in Philadelphia thought that the Eagles simply didn't want to pay Owens anymore money and used his "antics" as excuse to get rid of him.
