JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Williams is in Australia and said he plans to travel to India soon for a "couple of months." He said he contacted the Dolphins after they sent him a letter last week seeking repayment of $8.6 million by Monday. "I didn't call them to see if I could come back. I was just causing a conversation to happen," Williams said. "They sent me the letter and (my agent) told me it's in my best interests to call them." Asked if he was prepared to pay the money back or return to the team by Monday, Williams said, "That's really up to the Dolphins about the money. ... This whole thing gets crazier by the day." http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ms&sid=95745805
dib Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 The news this morning reports that Ricky will come back if: 1. There are changes on the coaching staff 2. They dont use him as much 3. They restructure his contract. If that isnt the dog wagging the tail...........

Do you think maybe he wants to bring Ditka in as the new head coach?

Gary M Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Season opener. I was a little late Saturday, I looked around by the pole but didn't see you. How can I get the money to you?

They restructure his contract. If that isnt the dog wagging the tail........... 7737 Of course, it would help Ricky immensely if he had leverage. Like threatening a hold-out...which is awfully tough to do when you've retired. Nothing like offering terms to someone after you've !@#$ed them over...
Rico Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I think he should rejoin the team, what a circus that'd be.
Spun Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I think he should rejoin the team, what a circus that'd be. 7834 I would rather see the circus without Ricky. He is too difficult to tackle. It is a major loss. So is losing David Boston.
DC Tom Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I think he should rejoin the team, what a circus that'd be. 7834 Only if they follow it up by cutting his ass out of spite...
