Jim in Anchorage Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 This is much better OK. Not exactly comfortably numb though.
Steely Dan Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 I think I will stick with Jimmy Page Eric Clapton plays on WMGW Bonehead!
Jim in Anchorage Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Eric Clapton plays on WMGW Bonehead! Never a huge Clapton fan, except"I'm so glad" That has 20 seconds of pure guitar ecstasy.
Chandler#81 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Pretty sure EC did played lead on the Beatles recording of the song on the White Album, backing up Harrison, while stealing his wife... McCartney has done a tribute to George on uke in concert, playing 'Something'.
Lee Otis M C Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I know this isn't WMGGW, but it's a doozy of a video... Yer Blues Clapton on lead, Richards on bass and Mitchell on drums. That's rock n rolla.
Reed83HOF Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 seeing I didn't keep with the WMGGW theme earlier... #1 #2
PromoTheRobot Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 OK. Not exactly comfortably numb though. If I never hear anything from "The Wall" ever again I would not mind. Pre-DSOTM Floyd is a treasure trove of lost classics. I love seeing Aussie Floyd because they do the old stuff too. PTR

McCartney has done a tribute to George on uke in concert, playing 'Something'. George really didn't mind. According to one story I read both guys and their wives were at a party and Clapton told George he loved Patti and George said "Take her as long as I get (whatever Clapton's wife was named)". Patti was son incensed she left that day. (Just a rumor in one of the books I've read)
Pete Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Never a huge Clapton fan, except"I'm so glad" That has 20 seconds of pure guitar ecstasy. you should hear the original by Skip James

ChevyVanMiller Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Harrison was very fond of the Ukulele. At parties he would break out a slew of them and people like Clapton. McCartney and David Gilmore would sit around a do number after number. What I wouldn't give to be invited to a party like that.

But I must agree (I do love Comfortably Numb), but I am sooooo sick of The Wall ugh...soo overplayed and somewhat overhyped...DSOTM I hardly listen to anymore as well...If I do it is just Breathe and Any Colour You Like
stuckincincy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I'd like to see somebody play "The Flight of the Bumblebbee", or the "Saber Dance" - on a tuba.
Chandler#81 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I give up-what is DSOTM? " I'll see you on the D.S.O.T.M."
The Poojer Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 (D)ark (S)ide (O)f (T)he (M)oon I give up-what is DSOTM?
