Kelly the Dog Posted June 18, 2009 Share Posted June 18, 2009 Why do you guys revel in the fact that Bush and McCain weren't conservative enough for the right, but defend your guy from attacks from your own side? I don't know why you said that to me... 1] I couldn't care less whether the conservatives thought Bush and McCain weren't conservative enough, they can think what they want, and I based my own opinions on each of them based on each individual thing they did, not whether it was conservative or not, or too conservative or not conservative enough. 2] I couldn't care less whether people on the left badmouth Obama for not being liberal enough, they have a right to that opinion, too. I don't agree with them, I think he should act as much toward the center as possible, when he can. I think it's dumb to let the Democratic congress have too much say, I hate the democratic leadership, I think he should try to get as much Republican support as he can, I don't think he should push or force a leftist agenda just because he has the power to. There are, however, lefty issues like health care, and new energy, and education I am in favor of so I would like to see those enacted. Climate change I don't care much about because I don't know what to believe. I'm personally in favor of gay marriage but I think it should be completely up to the states. I think unions hold way too much power and shouldnt get special treatment but they arent totally evil. I would like to be out of Iraq but I think that should be completely up to Gates and the Generals. I don't consider any of the bank or bailout stuff either right or left. And I wasn't defending Obama from attacks on him from the left. I was pointing out how dumb it seemed to me for those on the right supporting a stance they absolutely despise just because it seemed like criticism against Obama. For what it's worth, I criticize him, too, for different reasons, and he deserves criticism. For things that seem left and for things that seem right and centrist. I don't expect to like or support everything he does, liberal issue or not. That would be stupid. I also thought the Maher thing was very funny and I DO think Obama is on TV too much and should cut it down about three notches. Oh, and I fukking HATE PETA.
