H2o Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/06/11/...ee-to-new-deal/ http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9671226...e-McNabb-raise- Didn't really think the Eagles were going to commit any more money to McNabb so I can honestly say I'm surprised. I bet Kolb is kicking tires somewhere right now. He was hoping Donovan wouldn't receive a new deal.
Trent=Answer Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Getting paid to be a back up would be a dream job
PushthePile Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Kolb should be glad to be employed. Exactly, this deal just bought him a few more paychecks.
nucci Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Getting paid to be a back up would be a dream job I think most players actually want to play.
Lemur King Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 2 year deal. Kolb is still in good shape to start if he's worthy of it. It's not like he's Brady Quinn or Matt Leinart. Kyle Kolb was meant to sit on the pine for a while.

Kyle Kolb was meant to sit on the pine for a while. Philly has a pretty new stadium so I doubt they have wooden seating any more, even in the cheap section. Plus his brother Kevin can probably at least afford to get him a decent ticket season package.
May Day 10 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 a lot of philly fans want McNabb gone. i think they are crazy. they get rid of mcnabb, they could be looking for a qb for 10 years. I dont think Kolb is a solid NFL starter in the future
oddoublee Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 is this really a conversation??? its freaking kolb vs mcnabb. who cares if kolb is kicking tires, he is no where close to playing at mcnabbs level. kolb could very well be a career backup. if he was 'that' good, mcnabb would not have got an extension
Ramius Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Kolb's perfomance in limited time last season should have prompted the Iggles to give McNabb a new deal a lot sooner. How long until LT "Lennie" get jealous of McNabb's new deal and starts to hold out again?
2003Contenders Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I think it is a two-way street, McNabb said he didn't want to sign a new deal without assurance from the team that they would help with the supporting cast. I guess trading for Peters and drafting Maclin in the first was evidence enough for him.
