damj Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Why do Bills fans fall madly in love with every scrub, undrafted FA, draft pick (especially the low round ones) and training camp piece-of-soon-to-be-working-at-Walmart-crap fodder that the Bills bring in?!? Sure some of the work out (Jason Peters), but the other 99.94% of them don't ...
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Every player gets a couple of fans that are high on them, thats why it seems like we're high on everyone. There's so many of us, all with differing opinions, that every player they bring in is bound to get a couple of believers, just by the odds alone.

Yeah, I guess people are like opinions ... most of them are stupid. lol
SuperKillerRobots Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Yeah, I guess people are like opinions ... most of them are stupid. lol No reason to get mean, lots of fans like players or teams because they are underdogs and it would make for a great story for them to make it. They all don't, but that's what makes rooting for them so fun - when you actually get a guy who makes the team a la Jabari Greer or maybe even Steve Johnson. It's almost the same reason that I throw $20 on roulette when I'm at the casino - every once in a while I win and get to hit the strip clubs afterwards.

Seriously, after camp starts and we start to see some of these guys, sure, it's cool to have an underdog to root for ... but during OTA's?!? $$$ and Strip clubs?!? Yeah, there's something that we can all agree on! LOL
Fingon Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 People are right to be excited about Steve Johnson, as everyone has been raving about his performance in OTAs so far.
Delete This Account Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Rookie free agent LB Ashlee Palmer is on the radar. jw

Yeah, there's something that we can all agree on! LOL I was just responding to your first post in which you asked why Bills fans fall in love with the scrubs. I'm not saying you're wrong in your assessment that these guys aren't making the roster - most will not. In fact this year, the chances are even lower I think because the roster is far deeper than it has been in previous years, which means that those spots are hard to come by. With that said it's hard to not like guys who work real hard at this and probably don't look at it like a paycheck, but more of a passion. I'd rather have a whole team of guys like that personally, but the truth of the matter is that hard work alone is not going to get you very far in the NFL - as sad as that is. There's nothing better than winning at the casino and then going to Canada to celebrate - it's really why this place is so freakin great!
BillsGuyInMalta Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Rookie free agent LB Ashlee Palmer is on the radar. jw I'll admit...I am cheering hard for this guy. A lot of draft magazines and websites had him ranked in the top 10 for OLBs.

A lot of draft magazines and websites had him ranked in the top 10 for OLBs. but that goes against what the original poster is contending. you, my friend, are wasting your time. though, once the inevitable happens, and Palmer is cut, you, evidently, will have a chance to meet him soon at a wal-mart near you ... really, 99.94 percent? i'd say the OP is overestimating by at least .01 percent, maybe more. jw
