billsfanmiami(oh)
While eating some sub par wings at a BW3's last night, my co-worker said "didn't you tell me a while back that the Anchor Bar from Buffalo was going national?" Since I hadn't really ever heard anything else about it after the initial announcements and press releases, it peaked my interest. Did a quick google search and can only find stuff about the initial announcement. Am I missing something?
UConn James
AB probably just lacks franchisees. It's unbelievable the percentage of restaurants that close in short order. The success rate is very low. Franchising gets around this to a certain extent, but the franchise needs to be established. At this point, AB could very well be looked at by potential investors as a one-off, location-dependent success. I think anyone would be a bit leery of opening such a specialty place when there's lots of competition (Pizza Hut, Wings Over ___, KFC, etc.)... even if it's lesser competition. Definitely, the times aren't helping.
