While eating some sub par wings at a BW3's last night, my co-worker said "didn't you tell me a while back that the Anchor Bar from Buffalo was going national?" Since I hadn't really ever heard anything else about it after the initial announcements and press releases, it peaked my interest. Did a quick google search and can only find stuff about the initial announcement. Am I missing something?

AB probably just lacks franchisees.

It's unbelievable the percentage of restaurants that close in short order. The success rate is very low. Franchising gets around this to a certain extent, but the franchise needs to be established. At this point, AB could very well be looked at by potential investors as a one-off, location-dependent success. I think anyone would be a bit leery of opening such a specialty place when there's lots of competition (Pizza Hut, Wings Over ___, KFC, etc.)... even if it's lesser competition. Definitely, the times aren't helping.
