JinWPB Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 He was helping McCorner study for his "proctology" exam finals and suffered a groin injury. Ouch! They should both be available by mini camp.
damj Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 We should all just relax ... I remember a few years ago that Mike Williams had some unexplained absences ... and everything worked out just fine there ... relax ...
Captain Caveman Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I think his hesitation is because he does not know. Players miss a day here and there all the time. I doubt Jauron would be telling everyone he'd have an update at the end of the week if he didn't know what was going on.
PromoTheRobot Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Maybe the same place that wouldn't rent to T.O. won't rent to Nelson either. PTR
ans4e64 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 With our luck, he would have lost his passion to play football after two weeks with the team. The Bills can do that to you.
djcalvin79 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i might be mistaken, but wasn't he one of the rookies that couldn't join OTAs because of not having finished his finals back in college?
BillsGuyInMalta Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i might be mistaken, but wasn't he one of the rookies that couldn't join OTAs because of not having finished his finals back in college? That was Byrd. Nelson has been there for the last two weeks.
Steely Dan Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I'm guessing a family related problem that Nelson doesn't want talked about right now or maybe he's marrying Jeannie.
Captain Caveman Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i might be mistaken, but wasn't he one of the rookies that couldn't join OTAs because of not having finished his finals back in college? I was also thinking it may have something to do with school, but I checked, and Southern Miss had their graduation two weeks ago.
Robchester Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Well if it is something normal like a death in the family, the good news is it's not like that could set a player back a whole year. Oh, wait a minute, that can happen (#26).
VOR Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 If it was a matter of Nelson losing interest in football, Chris Brown would have told us by now.
PushthePile Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 He might feel he has nothing left to prove to Bills fans. Considering all the ballwashing that went on here, over his devastating, limited contact drill block, he's probably right.
Trader Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 He might feel he has nothing left to prove to Bills fans. Considering all the ballwashing that went on here, over his devastating, limited contact drill block, he's probably right. At first I thought that something was drastically wrong or else Jaron would have announced he was excused from Practice for a personal matter. But that would not be appropirate since you cannot be excused from a voluntary activity. My guess it's a personal problem or an injury or health problem that they want looked at.
scribo Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I see Nelson was not there again yesterday. I think if it was just a personal matter keeping him away, reporters would have been told just that, details not needed at this time.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Still nothing? Hope he`s not hurt. Is this a reason why he lasted till the 4th round?
Guest dog14787 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Still nothing? Hope he`s not hurt. Is this a reason why he lasted till the 4th round? If it was injury related it seems like they would have just reported as much, but if its illness related they may be waiting for test results to get back.
zazie Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 OK, now it is getting strange... A rookie 5th round TE should miss this many OTAs?
Kiwi Bills fan Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Where's Nelson? Nelson, New Zealand? Well, we're on the top of the south island, mate!
lynchneedsfood Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 CIN drafted one - Chase Coffman, bum foot and all. With all the hate bombs tossed Royal's way the past seasons, they might miss his blocking, especially with this proposed rookie-laden musical chairs OL. And I'm sure their opposition would love to see BUF try to be heavy on a no-huddle offense. I think that talk is just a marketing move to induce people to pony up for advance tix. We shall see. from what the news reports - fine & schouman were both just as good at blocking as Royal was. They were drafted as blocking TE's, they certainly weren't brought in make an extreme impact in the passing game. Who cares about the no huddle? All we need is for Trent to make the right reads pre-snap on any given play, and our offense should go fine.
