H2o Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 http://www.comcast.net/articles/sports-nfl....Titans.060209/ "At the same time, if them guys don't want me to be in there, it's time for me to make a career change for myself." My question is, is he hinting that he would request a trade or is he hinting that he is going to quit football? With Vince Young one can only wonder. edit: Just saw this on PFT http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/06/03/...oesnt-want-out/
Numark Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 O I know!!!! Pick me! Pick Me! we should get him! or wait, let's put him at CB!!!!!!!!!!!!! (saved you all the trouble of posting that)

(saved you all the trouble of posting that) Uhhhhhhhh, no. I hope none of that comes to pass. I was thinking more along the lines of him still being unstable mentally and possibly ready to pack it in if he doesn't beat out Kerry Collins in Tennessee. Just what I thought when I read it. He's already set for life if he manages his money right.

NewHampshireBillsFan Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 At least he has a smart agent there to do damage control. Still Vince Young will probably be out of the league within 3 to 4 years.

Mentally, maybe he just can't hold up. Sad for him, at least he made some cash before he blew up. Does not seem like a bad guy to me, I wish him well and hope he gat a good investment advisor to take him thru life with his millions. The limelight is not for everyone, at least his blow up was not drug or alchohal (or dog fight!) related

Live&DieBillsFootball Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 If he retires, would some of his guaranteed money not be guaranteed?
Mr. WEO Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 He's already set for life if he manages his money right. Yup---hahahhahhaha! 3-4 years and he'll be out of the League?? How will he last that long if he is thinking/performing this way now?
Fingon Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 When will NFL GMs get that running QBs can't make it in the NFL?
Coach55 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 When will NFL GMs get that running QBs can't make it in the NFL? Running QB's can make it (ala Steve Young and John Elway). Vince Young just isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and got knocked into reality when he stepped up to the pros. What was his Wonderlic score?

They were pocket passers who could run.

The NFL is a passing league.....it has been since the early 80's. I'm tired of watching guys who can run like a deer, but throw a simple out 3 yards wide and at the WR's feet.
faderphreak Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Just more proof that Texas players are flakes! Maybe it's because they have never had to face adversity and when they do they can't handle the pressure? Or they are just spoiled babies? It could just be that like many (note: I didn't say most or all) Texans I've known they talk a good game but are truly lazy. I mean come on they hunt deer using feeders in reserves down there. Vince Young Mike Williams Ricky Williams Chris Simms Michael Huff Derrick Dockery The list goes on and on. Maybe it was different back in the day but when you look at the top Longhorns in NFL history, none came out earlier than 93. Flame away Texans
Ramius Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Or you could look at it logically and realize it means he would want to be traded to a place where he could start at QB.
damj Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Yeah ... career change ... he's considering becoming an NFL quarterback.
WellDressed Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 At least he has a smart agent there to do damage control. Still Vince Young will probably be out of the league within 3 to 4 years. Young JP Lawncare LLP.
Orton's Arm Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Or you could look at it logically and realize it means he would want to be traded to a place where he could start at QB. I don't think NFL teams are allowed to do trades with CFL teams.
Mr. WEO Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Or you could look at it logically and realize it means he would want to be traded to a place where he could start at QB. You mean to a team where he didn't have to compete with the likes of the mighty Kerry Collins for a starting job? It's not like he's stuck behind Kurt Warner. Geez.
