Bill from NYC Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I agree it feels like the Bills give up the 3rd down conversion too often. So do most losing teams. Good point. I have seen defenders playing WAY back in situations such as 3rd and 15, and the receiver catches the ball in front of them. I really despise this idiotic defense.
The Dean Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 You have what we call "selective memory". If the Bills give up the big 3rd down 1 out of 3 times, you view it as the majority of the time. If the Bills stop a team, and then the offense does nothing (giving the ball back to the opponent) you forget that they made the previous clutch stop. IMO, if the Bills stop the opposing offense on third down, four times in the first half (for example), they are ALL clutch. But, the one (or two) they don't succeed in stopping is what we remember.
