generaLee83 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Say what you want but he's definitely the best safety in Buffalo.
WellDressed Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Sweet, our playmaker makes nice tackles. Lord, I'm done. Do you always wear wet shoes to church??
Bill from NYC Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I would rather have the 9the best [insert all positions on a football team except Punter and FB] EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK than the 9th best S. [i agree with whatever Bill in NYC will now interject into this coversation.] Many will miss the point you make. The guy was the 8th overall selection in the draft, and he is a good safety with 2 arrests under his belt. Not enough production for my tastes.
BillsFan74 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 DW is also the youngest person on the list. I jsut find it hilarious how much our fans kill the guy, yet he is viewed very highly around the league. Here's a newsflash: whether you agree with Whitner being drafted #8, it was fours years ago. He is a very good player and leader who loves being a Bill. You could do a hell of a lot worse than DW (Huff cough cough) Now hopefully with an improved pass rush, he will make the jump to a pro bowl level. I agree plus I think he's better at SS than at FS on this team. With a better front 7 and Byrd as FS he could really be more of an impact in the run game and in biltz packages.
zazie Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Yes I do. Whitner isn't as good as Scott at SS and he's not a good ball-hawk. If Byrd has instincts Whitner is on the bench if the FO has any balls. Byrd probably won't even get in there until late season injuries force the issue, then, he will be quite good. A la Leodis 2008. We have DJ coaching his balls are like unsalted planters peanuts. Likely Oline starts one rookie and Chambers, too, in my opinion.
