C.Biscuit97 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 DW is also the youngest person on the list. I jsut find it hilarious how much our fans kill the guy, yet he is viewed very highly around the league. Here's a newsflash: whether you agree with Whitner being drafted #8, it was fours years ago. He is a very good player and leader who loves being a Bill. You could do a hell of a lot worse than DW (Huff cough cough) Now hopefully with an improved pass rush, he will make the jump to a pro bowl level.
Fingon Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 A lot of the players ahead of Whitner are FS, so he ranks very high among SS.

And it seems like he has leveled off, he has been playing at the same level for the last couple of years. Hopefully better support will make him more of a playmaker, but, I wouldn't count on it.
Fingon Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Haha, "playmaker." Do you know the difference between a FS and a SS, in the Bills defense?
zazie Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Do you know the difference between a FS and a SS, in the Bills defense? Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like there are guys playing SS all over the league, that have a few more INTs. In fact, there are a lot of guys that get more big hits, too. Anyway, he got several games at FS last season. So??
GOBILLS78 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Do you know the difference between a FS and a SS, in the Bills defense? Doesn't take away from the fact that he's described as a playmaker in the article.
John Adams Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I would rather have the 9the best [insert all positions on a football team except Punter and FB] EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK than the 9th best S. [i agree with whatever Bill in NYC will now interject into this coversation.]
stuckincincy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Doesn't take away from the fact that he's described as a playmaker in the article. The article writer also chose Roy Williams as #20. Go figure.

This means that he is less likely to be roaming around looking to jump routes.
GOBILLS78 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 The article writer also chose Roy Williams as #20. Go figure. At least describing Kerry Rhodes as a "playmaker" isn't completely off base, as it is with Whitner. Although I have no idea why Rhodes is ranked behind Whitner. Eh, whatever.

I'm by no means a Whitner hater, I've just never seen him make many big plays.
