TheLynchTrain Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I think there is a kicker clause built in automatically, timing him out of the opportunity with an agreement to open it up upon mutual agreement. Did Mogilny tell you this when you bought his four wheeler for him?
TheLynchTrain Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Talk out of Chicago on Pisa Tinoisamoa: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/05/de...gents_tino.html http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-2...0,5256917.story The Lovie Smith connection might be tough to overcome. Seems he's playing the waiting game hoping for a 5-10% bump as others mentioned. Yea but Fewell coached him in stl too right?
BillsObserver Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I'll be surprised if the Bills let him slip away. All things being equal I think he chooses the Bills just because the Bills are closer to being a contender than the Bears. Playing in the NFC north is a way different ball game than playing in the AFC east. The Bears have done little to make me think they are legit contenders. Adding Cutler certainly helps but I still don't see any potency in their offense because he doesn't have enough of an arsenal at the skill positions. The Bills on the other hand have what looks to be, minus the OLB position of course, a very solid and deep defense. Adding Pisa would make it top tier in terms of talent and depth imo. Also you have to think the Bills have the potential for one of those "blow up the scoreboard" type offenses, and I don't think those differences are lost on Pisa. You also have to consider that Pisa stand to make a greater impact for the Bills who are far more starved for talent at the position than the Bears. I have to believe that unless the Bears offer him a flat out better contract you are going to see him in a Bills uniform next year. Hopefully the Bills FO doesn't let this opportunity slip away. And I thought I was a homer. Dude, you can't convince me that Pisa really believes the Bills are closer to being a contender than the Bears. Everyone knows the one big knock on the Bears the past few years; they haven't had a quarterback. Now they got one, with a pretty damn solid defense. The Bills offense, on the other hand, is a huge work in progress. Nobody knows for sure whether this T.O. experiment will blow up in our face or if Trent is really any good. Pisa will go with whoever offers him the most money.
banjo moe Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I was under the impression that Philly didn't want him. Buffalo wants him though. Let's get another guy who views Buffalo as a last resort. Hip Hip Hooray. I say let him hang out with JP this fall.
oak tree 12 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/05/27/...-acquire-lenon/ I think the leaning tower of Pisa would be a great addition for us. It seems he's getting closer since he canceled his Phili trip and now NE signing a diff LB.... fingers crossed. Patriots Acquire Lenon Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 27, 2009, 8:39 a.m. EDT The New England Patriots have struck a deal with veteran free agent inside linebacker Paris Lenon, according to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe. Per the report, the transaction likely takes the Patriots out of the running for former St. Louis Rams starting linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa. Tinoisamoa has visited the Patriots, Chicago Bears and the Buffalo Bills. “Paris is excited to finally be a part of a winning organization and eager to contribute in whatever way Coach [bill] Belichick and his staff see fit,” agent Jon Persch told the Globe. “Now, quite simply he’s eager to go to work.” Lenon, 31, recorded a career-high 121 tackles last season for the Detroit Lions, leading the 0-16 team in tackles. He has a previous stint with the Green Bay Packers. The Patriots were in need of some proven experience at inside linebacker after third-round pick Tyrone McKenzie suffered a season-ending knee injury at a rookie minicamp. you are truly jumping the gun. the team we are really competing with are the bears. they wanted hood and lost him and are now focusing on signing Pisa. they are the team we have to be very scared of!
buffaloaggie Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Yea but Fewell coached him in stl too right? Fewell was a secondary coach in St. Louis, not a LB coach. He was there at the same time as Tinoisamoa.
rstencel Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Fewell was a secondary coach in St. Louis, not a LB coach. He was there at the same time as Tinoisamoa. Linebackers usually spend a portion of thier time with secondary coaches going over coverage schemes and responsibilities at very least, if not going over coverage technics and other skills as well. So they should have a basic working knowledge of each other, at very least.
The Tomcat Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 you are truly jumping the gun. the team we are really competing with are the bears. they wanted hood and lost him and are now focusing on signing Pisa. they are the team we have to be very scared of! How am I jumping the gun? I would agree the team whom we should be most worried about is the Bears but now 2 or 4 teams (NE and Phili) seem out of the running. He left Chicago without an offer, canceled the trip to Phili, and was shut out of NE. We were the only team to offer a contract so I'll stand by my "Things are looking better for signing Pisa"
wonderbread Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 For crying out loud I have never seen so much speculation over a second rate LB. Its not as if he is Urlacher. The only one that really should care if he signs with the Bills is Ellison. Other than that just....let......it....GO!
SteamRoller67 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 For crying out loud I have never seen so much speculation over a second rate LB. Its not as if he is Urlacher. The only one that really should care if he signs with the Bills is Ellison. Other than that just....let......it....GO! He's 2nd rate alright....135 tackles worth of 2nd rate. Have you seen him play? He's all over the field. Granted he's not Lance Briggs, but don't call him 2nd rate that's just irresponsible.
el Tigre Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 For crying out loud I have never seen so much speculation over a second rate LB. Its not as if he is Urlacher. The only one that really should care if he signs with the Bills is Ellison. Other than that just....let......it....GO! The guy would be a major upgrade over Ellison. We would have a very strong LB corp with some depth. If we can sign him it would complete a pretty good off-season imo.
jimbohastle51 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 its about money at this point. he only played for lovie for ONE SEASON so i dont buy the whole relationship thing, and the bears defense was horrible last year. also they are well known to be the cheapest team in the league when it comes to free agents that are not there own. the bills will have the best offer and less competition for the spot. and as far as the bears being the better team, they were no better than the bills last year and if we match the 2 teams on paper right now (since no games are being played to judge by) chicago has NO offense (cutler had a GREAT recieving core and the best offensive line system in the history of football, any of you could play running back for the broncos and get 1000 yards with there zone blocking scheme) matt forte and greg olsen are not going to carry the bears anywhere, where were they last year? and there defense is ok. tillman and vasher never stay healthy and honestly if you look at the stats they got burned ALOT last year, enough in fact that the bears where a team calling about rod hood. they have SO MUCH money tied up in urlacher and briggs (over 12 million a year between the 2) they are not going to offer anything substantial monetary to pisa. if the bills loose out on him now its not because of lovie smiths slow talking butt (remember this guy hasnt done anything in 3 seasons as a coach either, since a superbowl apperance the LOST) its because our front office didnt close the deal, period.
Mr. ChumChums Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Can't be good, he's yet another NFL Europe product and according to Skooby NFL Europe lacked talent. Yet...under Bilicheat's system, he's probably going to look like a pro-bowler.

The Tomcat Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Be honest and tell me if you have ever even heard of him prior to all this hullabalu? Yes I have and your going with "I've never heard of him defense?"
wonderbread Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Yes I have and your going with "I've never heard of him defense?" Tomcat I was asking steamroller. An internet poster with your prowess must know everything about everything.
ans4e64 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Be honest and tell me if you have ever even heard of him prior to all this hullabalu? Obviously since you haven't heard of him, he's not a good player. What the hell does "hearing of him" have anything to do with how well he fits the Bills system and how good he is? Jesus.
The Tomcat Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Tomcat I was asking steamroller. An internet poster with your prowess must know everything about everything. I've got prowess...thats funny.....I don't know everything, just most things.
wonderbread Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Obviously since you haven't heard of him, he's not a good player. What the hell does "hearing of him" have anything to do with how well he fits the Bills system and how good he is? Jesus. You are making an assumption here that having ever heard of him and being a good fit for the team go together I however was not. I simply asked if the the poster who responded to me if he or she had ever heard of the player prior to this season and him being cut. I never said that he was a "bad player" or "good" I stated that he is a 2nd tier player. Flame away what ever gets you going.
