Clifton Hill / Niagara Falls Canada

Recommended Posts

I've been to NF ON may a time and I wouldn't call it "beautiful." It's nice especially around the Falls. The casinos are glitzy. The place just looks like there's more happening. Of course travel a few blocks inland and NF ON is almost as depressing as its US twin...well maybe not THAT bad.

Its bad, but its not that bad. I wouldn't even say its as bad as some areas of Buffalo.

I have been to Clifton Hill MANY times, and spent many a summer nights out there. it can be a fun place to hang out for some drinks and then go to the "Ballet"

When I was in college & me & all my friends I went to high school with would be back home for the summer we would go up to Clifton Hill every saturday night. We would usually get about 10-15 guys. If memory serves me correctly we went to Rumors alot. My friends parents had a cottage at Crystal Beach & we usually just crashed there. Alot of times when his parents were there we would get back there around 2-2:30 in the morning & we would be so drunk his parents would kick us out & we would just end up passing out on the beach. When the sun rose it would usually wake us up & we would get in our cars & go home. Those were some good times.

did anyone ever explore this...city...filled with hotels?

Its beautiful

I wish Buffalo could throw some of those skyscrapers into its city :w00t:

Very commercialized area and the night life caters to young kids (18-23'ish). The only ballet clubs within walking distance are nasty and the surrounding area is pretty much a dump. I would prefer the casino's over Clifton Hill any time. Although back in the day, Rumors was great place to party.

We would go out to either Boston Pizza or the Midway, and drink, then usually off to the late night Buffet at the Casino. Those were good times, getting home between 3 and 4 am full of cheap late night buffet food and drinks.

The only somewhat decent one near Clifton hill is Mints, (I said somewhat decent one) the rest are a quick ride down Lundys Lane

True, and it's a pretty cheap cab ride down Lundys Lane as well. Nothing beats the Downer, so it's well worth the ride!!

  • 1 year later...

Bored on a sunday evening and I was going through some old threads and came across this one which was cool to me because I am going to apply for an enhanced license this spring so I can play some golf courses over in Canada(which will also include some visits to the downer  ). I haven't been in Canada for probably at least 4 years now. Alot of good memories in this thread wanted to give it a BUMP see if anybody else has any good stories/memories from trips to our neighbors in the north

I must admit the Canadian side does have the best view of the falls......But that's because you're looking at America!!!!

Have to give props to Ralphy May for that one, saw his show at UB Thursday...

Driving along the Niagara Parkway from the Peace Bridge to the Falls is still the best drive you can ask for in that area. Simply gorgeous!

Actually all the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can even bicycle it on dedicated bike paths, although it is nice to have a pick-up arranged at the end. Great on the Harley too
