I reponded to an earlier post- but this is so damn impotant to me - I wanted to open a new post

First the first 2 words my mother taught me was "Lou" as in Saban, and "Bills" in the early 60s. mom also got me a puppy and she was with me for 12 years. As much as I love the Bills, Jack Kemp never woke me when my smoke detector went off, Jim Kelly never came over and licked my face after a bad day at work, Joe D. never let the hair stand up on the back of his neck - if someone unknown approached me or my family.

I have probably have had a 100 dogs in my life and touch my life (mine, my brothers, mt nephwews, my kids, and mt friends, and many of them have had to wear a Bills Bandana around thir necks on Sunday Sept. through the last game of the season - in good seasons (way to few) and bad seasons. I am loyal to my teams (Bills, Sabres, Blue Jays & Cubs) as my dogs are loyal to me and my loved ones.

If the Bills even bring Vick in for a work out - I would burn all of my Bills belongings, this world is filled with natural tragady and disspair - why would I watch to be enternained by a person who thrived on intentionaly wanted see non-repairable physical and mental damage to innocent dogs. And if they did not perform - strangle them, drown them, beat them. I would guess the retrospect would be - Interception - 2,000 volts to your testicals Mike, Loss game = cigarette burns on your neck, Blown read at the line = public flogging. Lost Super Bowl - Death by Hanging in public square. Guess if that was the case - the Bills only go to 1 super bowl.

RIP: Missy, Brandi, Scoop, Lucky, Tasker, Butkis, Kelpie

And a keep barking and protecting: Rocker, Harley, Dakatoa, Kona, Christie, Sheba, Buddy, Pudge, Ozzy, and Max - and if Mike Vick shows up - lift your leg up and PISS ON him and bite his nuts

chas_rocker@yahoo.com

Geez and fans talk about TO being a distraction- Chas_Rocker shakes his head

I would actually prefer if you just go ahead and start burning all of your belongings now.

Technically, he went to jail for the federal offense of Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 371.

BTW, did you know that associating with known gamblers can trigger a lifetime ban under the league's Personal Conduct Policy?

The bottom line on the Vick subject is that he still needs to be beaten in a fantasticlly painful manner in a vigilante sort of way. Forgiveness my uranus- you bible banging weenies.

Look, I fancy cats way over dogs, but this punk needs to pay societal dues now, and keep paying them forever. We humans shall not kill things unless we eat them. Forgiving is blind & foolish. The vet minimum is way too high for any NFL team to justify bringing this swivel-head back into the mix. Vick needs his face kicked-in to elephantmanesque proportions. I'll laugh harder than I did when Willis Mc Applebees got his neck cracked last year. You forgiveness pushing tea drinkers make me sick. Go drink tea, sing a hymn and get Vicks autograph on your poodles. And watch some soccer while your at it.

No it wasn't "A dog". It was many, many dogs. Systematically tortured and killed for amusement. Pretty sick s#it, if you ask me.

I'm sure you are 100 times more outraged about Vick and his dog incidents than you are about Leonard Little and his killing of a person while he was drunk driving...

I am sure you already have your PETA card, but if not, get in line and make sure you get one....

Its always amazing to me how people get so wound up over a freaking animal but they could comparably care less about people running around killing other people...

Its a dog...yes the acts were despicable, but again....its a dog...not a human...a dog...

I mean, look what we're talking about here...

we're talking about a dog...not an actual human being, not a human...a dog, man...just a dog...

I mean that's what we are talking about here, and what you are getting your panties in a bunch about? A dog? Cmon man....its a dog...its not even a human, man...its just a dog...

lolol nice work AI

There are a lot of weird, weird opinions in this thread. I think everyone can agree that Vick's actions were despicable, deserved jail-time, and his return to the NFL should not be an absolute guarentee. However, people want to kill him like one poster alluded too?? Are you !@#$ing kidding me?? Any idiot that would go that far suddenly becomes 100X the moron Mike Vick is. After all, the difference between human life and animal life is astronomical - that point isn't really up for debate, is it? I love dogs in a big way, but can we please stop acting like he was a S.S. guard in a concentration camp?

To follow on that, here is the complete text of the league's policy on gambling:

Gambling

The subject of bribes and gambling are covered each summer in special training-camp discussions with players by members of the League’s Security Department. You should be familiar with Paragraph 15 of your NFL Player Contract (entitled “INTEGRITY OF GAME”), which stresses these and related subjects, as well as with the text of the following sign which is posted in every NFL locker room:

Notice

To National Football League Personnel

Bribes and Gambling

Among the types of conduct detrimental to the NFL and professional football that call for serious penalties are the following:

1. Accepting a bribe or agreeing to throw or fix a game or illegally influence its outcome;

2. Failing to promptly report any bribe offer or any attempt to throw or fix a game or to illegally influence its outcome;

3. Betting on any NFL game;

4. Associating with gamblers or with gambling activities in a manner tending to bring discredit to the NFL.

Any such conduct may result in severe penalties, up to and including a fine and/or suspension from the NFL for life.

ROGER GOODELL

Commissioner

You should also be aware that the League has a longstanding policy against any advertising or promotional activities by players, clubs, coaches or other management personnel that can reasonably be perceived as constituting affiliation with or

endorsement of gambling or gambling-related activities. All club employees, including coaches and players, are prohibited from being associated with such activities through endorsements, commercials, ads, or public appearances. Violators will be subject to appropriate discipline.

Promotional appearances by players, coaches, or other personnel involving casinos, sports books, gambling cruises, or similar activities are not permitted.

Read No. 4 closely, then decide if you think Goodell will reinstate him the second his sentence officially ends on July 20.

Agreed 100%. As I mentioned in an earlier post here, Americans, for whatever reason, have an irrational, bizarre fascination with dogs. This is clearly evident on this thread. Rover? Yeah I love him as much as my first born son. I take him with me when I blow the brains out of deer and elk and beautiful, graceful, soaring birds on the weekends for sport. Come on honey, let's go out for dinner and eat some veal while we're at it. Running over Canadian chicks, smoking blunts while driving with loaded weapons in the trunk? Forget about it.

Have you ever swatted at a bee? Stepped on an ant? Eaten turkey on thanksgiving?

Dogs really aren't that !@#$ing special, and if you want to quit being a fan because the bills bring in a special player because he used to fight dogs, then you just arent a fan. I bet Lou Saban once killed an ant, do you hate him?

I root for the Bills to score touchdowns, not to be nice dudes. If Marshawn smokes weed, so be it, as long as he scores. If Whitner wants to fight a cop, I really, truly don't care. He's not my friend, he's a player on the team I'm a fan of.

You are a major loser. Your mom doesn't have a dog to come and wake you in your basement so you compare dogs to bugs? Good logic! :ph34r: I am completely in accordance with the OP. Mike Vick, as good as he was a football player, is a despicable human being. I could not watch this man play on my beloved Bills for a second. I would rather chear on the (gasp) Patriots than have him on my team. I have a Scott American Bulldog and she is an absolute joy to see everyday. She greets me when I get home, wakes me up to get me off my ass in the morning and brings joy to my life as she plays in the park and on the beach. How could anyone ever compare a dog to an ant? I know....you are Mike Vick! What an A-hole!

It does'nt make sense to me. They let two humans fight it out inside a ring weather it's boxing,UFC or some form of martial art.But two dogs or two chickens in a ring are frowned upon I think any form of violence is a disgrace

The humans make a choice and sign a waiver before the opening bell. I don't recall hearing that the dogs get the same option.

Wow! We have some real geniuses on the board these days! So, do those two humans tear the skin off eachother and duel till the death? Not unless you are talking some Mad Max Thunderdome fighting! Like Lori said, human fighters sign waivers and are congnisant of what the other is going through. They are not aiming to mame or kill the opponent, just to win in the eyes of the judges. Animals are just that, animals. While they can add a great deal to our lives and are generally great to have around, they are moulded by those that train them. This is not their own fault. A puppy is not born with malice in them. This is something that base-level humans put into them. Looks like the same kind of base-level humans that Red Rooster thinks are justified.

Where's the waver when we send a police dog into a dangerous situation that could get the dog killed. Sure it seems like a noble cause to us, but if a dog could think and speak for himself like a human, he might just say hell no, you go in there without a weapon and get shot or stabbed if you think its such a good idea.

As far as fighting in a ring goes, the poster has a point, guys have been getting killed in the ring for centuries and it still happens now. Fighting is in our blood regardless if blood gets spilled or not while doing it.

I stand by my post - In the ring - when blood is drawn the referee has the option to stop the fight. For the record I played organized soccer for almost 30 yrs, Wrested high school for 4 yrs, played Hockey for 12 yrs - organized and pond, Lacross was 2 years, I dove 1 metre for 4 years. He trained dogs to maim and kill - and when they did not perform - he executed them. I want to thank you all for the support - the people who want to attack my integrity with one-line shots - thatis a daily dodge .

If the Bills bring him for an interview- There will be a lot of Red and Blue thategts put into the fire !

Don't cats torture their pray before they kill it by allowing the mouse to run away, then pounce on it again, then allow it to escape again before killing it? I think you should start a petition to ban cats as well because they systematically torture their prey as well...

Good point...perhaps you should head over to the African savannah and get all of the zebra and gazelle who are hunted by lions and cheetahs to sign release waivers before they are allowed to be attacked...

Dog munches down on the cat who munches down on the mouse.(Big cats will also munch down on dogs) Dog will also munch down on another dog if it gets in his way, especially if there's a B word in heat around, talk about some dog fights, I've gotten bit pretty bad trying to break up a whole pack of dogs fighting before, one of them was mine and although he was giving more then he was taking he also got chewed up pretty bad. My dog was a Keeshhound named Peppy tangling with a huge German Shepard who had pulled an anchor right out of the ground he was chained to trying to get to the other dog in heat.

Its a dog eat dog world we live in sometimes. :ph34r:
