The Dean Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Coming in to visit on friday from frigging charlotte area. Any places to recommend nearby. You have many choices. I'll toss you a few suggestions: McPartlan's Corner is/was regularly voted as one of the top fish frys in the area. I think it's pretty damn good, but maybe not the best: http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=3270 Mister Dee's is my favorite place to stop near the airport. They have very good beef on weck, wings, fish fries...and just about everything else. Good bar, good prices, nice people. It's hard to go wrong with Mister Dee's: http://www.misterdees.com/ Other good ones include: Edge of Town. 2310 Genesee St. (near Pine Ridge Rd.), Cheektowaga. 893-4476. Mr. Bill's Restaurant and Bar 1500 Cleveland Drive Cheektowaga, New York 14225 634-0783 Now, Danny's is VERY close to the airport. I have found it acceptable, most of the time, but uneven. You can do better with the others listed, IMO, if you have time. If not, Danny's will probably be fine. It's been a while for me. I'm sure others can give you better up-to-date info.
bills44 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 As Dean indicated, McPartlan's is good, as is the Buffalo Brew Pub (corner of Transit & Main). Creekview (Main St in Williamsville) is decent as well.

bdelma Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 Thanks guys, the owner of McPartlan's lives across the road from my folks. Getting old!
Chef Jim Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Of the three and a half things I miss about WNY number one on the list is Friday Fish Fry.
WWVaBeach Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Otto's on Union & G. Urban is very good also. It's almost hard to get a "bad" fish fry in Cheektowaga.
The Senator Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Coming in to visit on friday from frigging charlotte area. Any places to recommend nearby. Danny's - Genessee St. between Dick/Cayuga Rd & Union link Mr. Bill's - corner of Cleveland & Cayuga link Both are literally a spit from the airport, both serve an excellent fish fry.
Preston Ridlehuber Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Jade's on Broadway near Borden has always had a great fish fry although it can be kind of a wait on Fridays.
