BillsFan-4-Ever Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 anyone care to explain why google maps, yahoo maps etc no longer has the Naval Observatory pixilated? It was that way for at least the 8 years. All of a sudden it's normal. Care to explain why that is?
ExiledInIllinois Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 anyone care to explain why google maps, yahoo maps etc no longer has the Naval Observatory pixilated? It was that way for at least the 8 years. All of a sudden it's normal. Care to explain why that is? Because nobody really cares... Who cares where the Bat Cave is? Put a big arrow on it like in a Bugs Bunny cartoon!

All of a sudden it's normal. Care to explain why that is? because Obama doesn't like the military and removed the restrictions for a lot of military bases. Under Bush all miltary installations were blocked. under Obama few are. He doesn't give a crap about the military and if the enemy can use the maps to better organize their attacks, so much better to fit his plan.

/dev/null Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Care to explain how you know the USNO was obfscuated on Google maps for eight full years? He read it in GQ
VABills Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 He read it in GQ Boston Globe/NY Times/Wash Post is my bet
DC Tom Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 He read it in GQ He certainly didn't check Google Maps...if he did, he'd have noticed that it's still blurred. They've got some great shots of the carriers at Norfolk, though. The George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, and the Ike.
GG Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 He certainly didn't check Google Maps...if he did, he'd have noticed that it's still blurred. But, it's still real to me, dammit.

Thanks for that small sliver of insight into your paranoia. That's enough for now though - tinfoil headgear is once again optional.

Gene Frenkle Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Did you read that in GQ? Close - it was on the BBC.

And yet 3 months ago, you could not view the layout of a military base in this country. Now it's pretty much the norm since the admin removed the restiction. There is only one reason to do that, and many reasons not to.

Therefore: [Obama] doesn't give a crap about the military and if the enemy can use the maps to better organize their attacks, so much better to fit his plan. I see your point now. You are not delusional at all.

Gene Frenkle Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Care to explain any other reason why it's now allowed? Well, Occam's Razor says that the simplest explanation is probably correct. You are obviously an expert on simple, so who am I to come up with alternate explanations for your Straw Man?
