AlbanyBill Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I know a lot of people have cited Golisano as a possible money source/investor to help keep the Bills in Western NY. Now that he's leaving do you think this affects the future of the Bills? He says he will remain owner of Sabres but I'm just wondering if he will be interested in putting money up for the Bills now. I'm thinking probably not but maybe since he will be saving millions of dollars in taxes by moving to Fl... http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregion/story/672153.html

Kid Fat Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Good point since the guy that has kept the Bills in Buffalo since 1960 is a WNY resident. Oh wait....
San Jose Bills Fan Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Wow, almost a 9% state income tax on those making more than $500,000/year. I don't blame Golisano for moving. What's more, the increase in the already ridiculously high state income taxes are just one more reason that players won't want to play football for the Bills. Hate to say it but New York state is going down the pooper.
SKOOBY Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Naples, Fla, I know where he lives here. I used to live right next door to one of his several homes he has. It's called port royal, really nice deep water dockage community. Then again, who / what do I know with me living here for ~15 years already.

May Day 10 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Golisano is fighting for us New Yorkers. We should do as he says politically.
bourbonboy Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 If he saves $13K/day by changing his residency, it's a wonder he stayed in NY as long as he did! That's almost 5 million $ a year!
PistolPetey Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 A billionaire paying 9% taxes? My heart bleeds. He's free to move where he wants, but don't feel sorry for him.
Mike in Syracuse Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Ralph Wilson already lives in Florida. I don't see how this has anything to do with the Bills. The sad reality is NYS is driving people out faster than the idiots in Albany can raise taxes. The entire Thruway corridor is turning into a gigantic shithole and only those in severe denial don't see it. Seriously, if you could live in Florida with his income you'd have to be !@#$ing nuts to live in Buffalo or Rochester.

Can the rest of us be far behind with Obamanomics supporting every move towards socialism? Soon, we'll all be answering to the federal government instead of the other way around (as it was intended). "Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have" - Thomas Jefferson Hey, I thought the point was to have a "cool" President this time around. Who really cares if his policies are direct blueprints of California and NYS, two states that are fiscal disasters. Like Joe Biden says..."Hey kids, me and Barack are gonna make sure that when you grow up everyone will get to go to college for free!" Well, at least it's not like the country wasn't fore-warned about Obama's lunacy big government spending plans.

Hate to say it but New York state is going down the pooper. According to the site linked below, Naples, Florida is 217% more expensive than Rochester, NY as a place to live: http://www.bestplaces.net/col/?salary=5000...;city2=51247625 And, while much of that is due to the differences in housing prices, every item on the list is more expensive in Naples, than in Rochester.
