ganesh Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 There is a reason Florence was let go by the Chargers -- and it was not just Cromartie. The Chargers never let a good player walk away, but they let Florence walk away. The Jags then cut him after one year. I dont know their reasoning, but I dont expect much from him with McKelvin, McGee, Youboty, and Corner on the roster. Drew Brees
Gordio Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I wouldn't be shocked if Florence is starting day one, actually. McKelvin was exceptional for a rookie last year, but Jauron doesn't like to give jobs to young players unless he has to, or unless they've earned it. Leo will have to come into camp and prove he's the better player in order to start. If they're about the same, Florence probably gets the nod, at least early in the season. JMO If Mckelvin is not penciled in & entrenched as the starter from day 1 of training camp, Jauron & Fewell should be escorted off of the practice facility at SJF immediately by security.

Jon in Pasadena Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 although grammer-wise you are right, apologies. I tend towards a pidgeon-english which is much more understandable in some places, but not proper English. So, I will try to do better in the grammer department thanks for pointing it out. As for spelling, generally the issue is typos, I can spell properly.

Gordio Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Yeah, fck playing the best player. You seriously for one moment think Florence is going to outplay Mckelvin this season? Wow.
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 You seriously for one moment think Florence is going to outplay Mckelvin this season? Wow. I'm saying let the best man in camp start the season. How much better do you really think McKelvin was last season than Florence was in San Diego? We should use the preseason to evaluate both players.
oak tree 12 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Alot of analysts were shocked the Jags gave up on him so fast...Merril Hoge loved this free agent pickup...he considered Florence an upgrade over departed Greer... Eventhough I love Greer and wish him the best in N.O. he was not a fit in jacksonville's defense. buddy nix was very much responsible for him comming to buffalo. he was the one who drafted florance. everybody said it was a bad signing but SD wanted him back we were lucky to get him.
Commander Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Drayton Florence has TWO playoff interceptions against Tom Brady in the last three years. Quick -- answer the following: - How many interceptions does the entire Buffalo defensive backfield have against Tom Brady? - How may playoff interceptions does the entire Buffalo defensive backfield have? I'm not saying he should start...I'm just sayin'...
