Jeffery Lester Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I live about ten minutes from where the jets will be holding their training camp. Let me tell u the town is a DUMP!!!! There is absoulutely nothing to do. (NOT JUST SAYING THAT) The county has the highest unemploment rate in the state. When I heard they were coming I just thought about how pissed the players will b when they get here. If u feel down about your town, go to cortland, it looks like vietnam. More child molesters than people with jobs. Hopefully the players will get bored and get into trouble. Also I think this says something about how dumb the coach and management is. They obviously did not do their research. I have lived in the area 22 years, and can honestly tell you I have NEVER met a jets fan. This is Bills and Giants country. More so Bills. So I would Like to be the first to welcome the Jets to the Filthy city of Cortland. Is Cortland next to Niagara Falls? they sound very similar.
gflande1 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 If you read this post first, don't bother reading this thread (it's a who's who of dipheads). The king of thd dipheads has spoken. :-) As far as there being nothing to do in Cortland, I just would like to remind you that Ithaca and Syracuse are not that far away.
fifi82 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 So were you a member of the majority of child molesters for the entire 22 year period?Or did you get your nickname as being a victim? too funny lol
Arkady Renko Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Wait...I have one important question.... Is there a Dave & Buster's? There's not even one in Rochester.
May Day 10 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I went to college there. The OP speaks the truth. It seems odd that they would hold training camp there.
Williams+Williams+Williams Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I went to college there. The OP speaks the truth. It seems odd that they would hold training camp there. The Jets probably figured it would be alot easier to get there hands on some juice. Courtland State is one of the most juiced out schools in the country. They probably have the highest needles per ass ratio in all of the land.

Dr. Trooth Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I must confess. The Doc has his practice in Cortland.... and a half mile (as the crow flies) from the SUNY Cortland Fields/stadium Dump? Yep... but, no more so than Albany, Buffalo, Troy, Schenectady, Binghamton, Syracuse, Amsterdam, Canajoharie, Auburn, Elmira, Corning, Geneva, Seneca Falls, Little Falls, Hudson Falls, Niagara Falls... yada yada yada. You may remember when a candidate for NY governor Spitzer made his famous Rte 5 tour and the controversy after he characterized that trip as a trip through "Appalachia". Fact is... chop the state off at the northern borders of Rockland and Putnam County and, my friends, you have the poorest state in the country...period. Keep electing these democrat pieces of schitt... in NY, the sun only shines downstate... the !@#$ing legislature... which is the laziest and most corrupt in the galaxy, doesn't want to deal with the fact that NY is bi modal and because of that a separate set of rules and regulations need to apply. Brain drain? Who the !@#$ can blame our kids for getting the hell out this state?

nobody Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 There is an A&W restaurant outside of town. Can't beat their root beer floats.
KD in CA Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 anyone ever been to the darkhorse? Many times. IIRC, a bucket of six Rolling Rocks used to be $5. And the wings were excellent. Once we taunted the chef that he couldn't make them hot enough and holy sh-- did he punish us. Of course we had to eat them all. They also used to have a good New Years' Eve party....in July.
Arkady Renko Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 There is an A&W restaurant outside of town. Can't beat their root beer floats. And some decent mini-golf nearby.

Hope the training staff packs copious amounts of medicated shampoo, because knowing cortland there's likely to be some crabs goin down.
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 If you read this post first, don't bother reading this thread (it's a who's who of dipheads). Wow.
sullim4 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 As far as there being nothing to do in Cortland, I just would like to remind you that Ithaca and Syracuse are not that far away. I lived in Ithaca for a year. If you aren't uber-liberal or into the bar scene, forget about even trying it, there's little else there. I couldn't imagine living in Cortland. Syracuse wouldn't be so bad...

Brain drain? Who the !@#$ can blame our kids for getting the hell out this state? I have said it before and will say it again. That big sucking sound we hear in WNY is our tax dollars being poured into a bottomless pit in NYC. Same with our electricity rates here in WNY. Our high rates here (with Niagara Falls just a stones throw away) subsidize the low electric costs in NYC to the east and Ohio and Indiana to the west. Socialism is alive and well in NYS.
Just Jack Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 There is an A&W restaurant outside of town. Can't beat their root beer floats. According to the A&W webpage, it's now one of those combo A&W/KFC stores. And some decent mini-golf nearby. And a WalMart
