Early Reports From Today's Rookie Camp

Recommended Posts

Chris Brown said Shawn Nelson was impressive in his first day, catching everything thrown his way.

Mark Gaughan said Eric Wood was at right guard and Andy Levitre at left guard. He said Nelson looked like he needed to put on some weight but doesn't think that will be a big deal. He also said Maybin looked very tall, bigger than Robert Mathis. He said Joel Bell is massive. QB Daniel Polk from Midwestern State is really fast. FB Travis McCall is strictly a blocker tight end-Hback-fullback.

Good news regarding Nelson. He sounds like the anti-Royal already.

nice video, thanks

I dont know if it was the angle or not but Levitre looked a little shorter then i would have thought, how the hell did he play tackle in college

Nelson runs more like a WR then Hardy does....can the Bills finally have a pass catching TE

That vid showed Nelson catching a ball that I guarantee would have gone right through Royal's hands.

I was going to get a Nelson jersey. Looks like I am going to have multiple #89 jerseys now!

Nelson you have big shoes to fill!

reports just for the sake of reporting...

I mean really?? Nelson looked impressive running a few routes against noone and catching the ball? That qualified as impressive to someone? I cannot believe that I just read that... Would anyone on this message board have a hard time running routes against noone and catching a pass from a QB when noone is covering you? I would have to think probably a few, but most wouldn't...

Dude. Noone is the most dominant lock-down corner of our generation.

Actually Noone is the second most dominant lock-down corner of our generation.

The first most is Nnamdi Asomugha. I know I'm skirting the real fun here but I think it bears mentioning what a great player he really is and how little credit he gets around the league.

"In 2007 opposing quarterbacks tested him only 31 times with a mere 10 completions the entire season. One NFL scout told Pro Football Weekly that Asomugha was thrown at "less than any defender in the last ten years" in 2007 [4] He finished the 2007 season with 34 tackles, 1 interception and 7 breakups and was named a 2008 Pro Bowl alternate.

In 2008 Asomugha was tested by quarterbacks only 27 times with 8 completions allowed the entire season. He finished with 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 9 pass deflections."

Interestingly he was taken 31st overall in the 2003 draft.
