I'm not arguing with you anymore LaBillz. You lack ability to think anything but hate for Obama. Rupert Murdoch has control of you and there is nothing I can do about it.

We're not arguing about Obama. We're arguing about your support for Chavez. Tell us, why do you love Chavez? Is it the island? C'mon, Connor...why do you love Hugo Chavez?

:pirate: Why can't I just love diplomacy? Why does everything have to be about Chavez? Everytime we argue you have to bring Chavez into it.

WTF are you talking about? YOU'RE the one who brought up Chavez. You love to see Obama hanging out with him. I just want to know why?

And what benefits do you see Americans receiving by being diplomatic with Chavez?

Honestly, Probably not much. Maybe a few people around the world who paid enough attention to it will think just a bit better of us. Perhaps Chavez in the future might listen a little more when we make demands. People like me can actually feel proud of our country. It serves as nothing more than a start and a building block.

But what did it cost us? A smile and a handshake? I'd say we got our moneys worth.

Yes is does. His loyalties lie in diplomacy, not in blowing the sh-- out of everyone.

Are you aware Chavez just gave us a free island?

Once again with the black-and-whites. Bush's diplomacy was rather competent, particularly in his second term, once Rumsfeld stopped making foreign policy statements. You'd be hard-pressed to mention two policy failures other than Iraq (which was a BIG one, admittedly). You just can't accept it as such because, again, you think in absolutes, and can't distinguish a hard-line foreign policy from "blowing the sh-- out of everyone".

Not that there was any real reason to hate Chavez to begin with. Oh no, he's a socialist! Great...then let's cut off relations with Sweden, too.

he's got 1,000,000 more to go to catch up to He Who Must Not Be Named.

Did you know that Obama marks first 100 days with a 68 percent approval rating, the highest since 1953!?

I couldn't care less about approval ratings. They mean nothing.

Talk all you want about Bush's mistakes. He made some big ones and they get talked about- so will Obama. It goes with the territory- heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Ya. Aside from Iraq, I've never ragged on Bushes foreign policies. well.. not true. The shoulder massage to the German president was pretty bad. Bush wasn't evil and murderous.. just incompetent. I mean I kind of like that Bush went to China for the Olympics.

Anyways.. way to put words in my mouth. I start out defending Obama.. and now you tell me I'm attacking Bush. Ok.

LaBillz said Chavez tortures his own people.

that's not true!!

I saw him defend Obama yesterday!!!!

That's any different than your typical "Clinton did it too" response when Bush was in office how? ;)

:pirate::rolleyes::lol::worthy::worthy:

How TRUE that is.

It's Clinton's fault and he had an affair with a woman.

How many R's had affairs with "boys" and were caught in Airport latrines?

You're comparing Obama's preference for "policy" to precisely what then? Clinton's "blow the sh-- out of people" policy? What specifically were you talking about when you made the distinction?

LaBillz said Chavez tortures his own people.

Was he? I don't really know. He certainly didn't do it with oratory, the way Bush tortured us.

You know what bothers people like me when it comes to folks like yourself? Someone accuses the US of dunking the head of a terrorist who was behind 9/11, and folks like yourself yell "That's not my America. My America isn't a bunch of thugs, and not only should we release all our techniques to the very people who mean to do our country harm, but we need to start prosecuting the very lawyers who even came up with the concept!!!"

But people accuse Chavez of imprisoning and torturing opposition to his leadership, and you start sounding like Vinny Barbarino. "What? Where?"

I know you think you're being diplomatic, but to a true conservative like myself it's just ridiculous hypocrisy.
